Job Summary:The Role:Ruoff Music Center is seeking a Maintenance Manager to help us take our venue and maintenance staff to the next level. The primary purpose of this role is to oversee all cleaning and sanitation efforts as well as to provide administrative and executional support to drive effective and successful implementation of venue maintenance, cleanliness, and upkeep. This position will operate under the guidance and direction of Ruoff Music Center's Facilities Director and be part of the venue operations team. This is a seasonal, part-time position working April through the end of October at an average of 30 hours per week depending on show schedule and business needs at the time.Primary Responsibilities:Oversight of venue cleanlinessManagement and supervision of cleaning and maintenance crews to ensure work in being completed in an efficient and timely mannerAssists in ensuring that the building maintenance crews are fulfilling their tasks in a timely manner before, during and after the shows. Tasks include, but are not limited to:Full Plaza Clean & Fire hoseFull restroom cleanFull Pavilion Clean & Fire hoseFull Parking Lot CleanAssist Sustainability Team trash collection and sortingTrash removal from all venue areasFull Dressing Room, Backstage & Production Office CleanSeats taken out or replaced if mosh pit configuration requiredFull Lawn Clean (trash blown off)Maintain communications and positive work environmentAssist with hiring & staffing of venue maintenance and housekeeping crews.Communicating with the Scheduling Coordinator regarding staffing and placement needsCommunicating with the Facilities Director and Operations Manager regarding needs and questionsCommunicating with Facilities Director regarding staff performanceCommunicating clearly with the Facilities Director regarding project timelinesCommunicating with Day Crew and Show Crew Supervisors regarding staff performance, venue needs, and questionsSecondary Responsibilities as Assigned:Day to day upkeep of on-site equipment (mowers, tractors, blowers, weed-eaters, golf carts, etc.)Day to day upkeep and maintenance of facility equipment (backup generator, venue lighting, electrical facilities, concession equipment, etc.)OSHA safety, forklift safety, MSDS maintenance.Day to day upkeep of wastewater treatment ponds and well water systemCoordination with IDEM to maintain permitting for wastewater lagoons.Repairs to venue parking lot lighting.Assists with the continuity of facility plumbing.Maintenance of facility grounds (i.e. parking lots, walkways, bridges)Electrical repairs and improvements as needed by concessionaire, vendors, tour, etc.Maintenance of company truck (oil changes, general maintenance) when requested.Winter plowing and right of way maintenance during inclement weather when requested.Assists with facility changes and improvements as needed (fence removal and restoration for specific shows, additional lighting when needed).Assists with in-house maintenance of telecommunications wiring (phone, internet).Participates in upkeep and safety of the building’s physical plant:Monitoring the safety of the buildingMonitoring the condition of buildings on the premisesMonitoring the condition of equipment required for the operation of various buildingsEstablishing and maintaining contacts with various vendors (electrical supplies, plumbing supplies, restroom supplies, various maintenance supplies).Upkeep to the lawn seating areaPlacement and maintenance of fire extinguishers.Participate in annual meeting with state and local fire marshalsAttends forklift training for venue personnelUpon request, conduct or arrange safety training for maintenance and housekeeping staffAssists with disposal of environmentally hazardous materialsAssists with disposal of CFL’s and other fluorescent lighting through the “lamp tracker” systemMaintenance to the house video system (in-house wiring) upon request.Works towards zero waste goals with Sustainability TeamCoordinates product orderingCoordinates staffing needs with third party vendors (if needed)Training & Engagement:Participate in pre-season orientationParticipate and help lead pre-season venue training sessions relevant to maintenanceWork with Facilities Director and venue leaders to relay pertinent day of show information during pre-shift meetingsWork with all RMC departments, including concessions, backstage/production, and event staff regarding needsContinuously seek out opportunities that help build enthusiasm and participation for venue maintenance effortsWhen requested, assist the post-show sorting process of all recycling, composting, and landfill materials which will take place in an outdoor covered areaWork with venue sustainability to design a comprehensive zero waste plan for the venue and assist specific departments with their diversion effortsBe present on show days to manage and ensure venue is show readyUse event day checklist to assess readiness for show and adjust as necessaryWork with the Facilities Director and Experience Manager to identify and reward supervisors and crew members going above the norm in their contributions to venue expectationsFamiliarity in Microsoft Office is a plusAssist with the Venue Audit assessment and annual equipment inventory as requestedQualifications:Ability to spend majority of time walking, bending, reaching, stooping, lifting and carrying 50 lbs+High School Diploma or equivalentAt least 1 year in a leadership position in one of the following: operations/event coordination, Guest Services and communications, event or campus sustainability/zero waste events is a plusCreative thinker and problem solver;
