As part of Battery Engineering, you will have responsibility to successfully develop new battery products through the technical direction of highly multi-functional engineering teams and supplier partners specialized in the development of batteries. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Experienced with combination of battery-related technical expertise (deep or broad) with multi-functional leadership responsibility Completion of numerous product development cycles to ship Familiarity with various rechargeable lithium-ion battery chemistries Integration of batteries into products and devices. Strong proficiency towards detailed and meticulous designs with emphasis on simple and elegant design concepts for mass production. Cross-disciplinary technical (mechanical, materials, electrical, software). Excellent leadership skills with a lead-by-example attitude. Skilled in data presentation, communication, problem solving, critical thinking. Ability to develop collaborative networks among peers and multi-functional teams quickly. Excellent written and verbal skills. Draws upon process to improve results in innovation-based culture. Self-starter with excellent time management skills and entrepreneurial spirit. Relies on data to support technical decisions. Description Description You will be responsible for establishing and meeting battery requirements through the realization of robust designs qualified for mass production. Responsibilities are: - Monitors mechanical and electrical design for correct integration of battery module and within devices and systems. - Reviews integration issues and drives engineering and operations teams for robust closure of issues. - Explores new architectures with product teams towards optimal battery design direction. - Transitions newly established battery technologies into product design. - Influences early-phase design simulation and analysis for superior design rigor. - Structures technical investigations to reduce project risk. - Assures alignment between design tolerances and process capability. - Facilitates high-quality multi-functional design reviews. - Owns the tough decisions when the multi-functional team cannot decide. - Ensures robust product qualification design. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $132,300.00 and $241,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
