We realize that new ideas can come from everywhere in the organization, and we know the next big idea could be yours! The opportunity As the Principal Scientist of Developer Experience at Adobe, you will help build and lead a team that ensures that Adobe engineers have the best development workflow possible. You will focus on hands-on tools and processes for upgrading codebases across Adobe. You will help Adobe engineers learn new skills, use the latest tools, and follow best practices. Your team’s goal is to increase developer velocity, improve satisfaction, and migrate toward consistent solutions and practices across Adobe’s engineering organization.  What you will do  Develop and operationalize mechanisms for rolling out technical changes across the codebases for Adobe’s products.  Lead migration of high-value projects onto more consistent platforms with modern tooling support. Assess the needs and challenges of high-value teams. You will work with them to improve their engineering environments and processes, through action, education, and automation.  Help codify and expand Adobe best practices, associated courses, and new hire training. You will ensure that developers have easy access to the most relevant and up-to-date training and tools. Establish and promote internal standards that foster code reuse, documentation quality, and best practices across projects.  What you will bring  A recognized leader in software engineering and developer experience, with a proven track record of leadership, consensus-building, and hands-on migration/refactoring. Good history of execution in large legacy codebases. Strong leadership skills and can encourage and empower your team and stakeholders. Excellent communication skills and can collaborate effectively with senior engineering management. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $191,700 -- $345,700 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
