If you already have a Candidate Account, please Sign-In before you apply.Job Description:A validation engineering position responsible for validating servo applications for hard disk drives, in addition to developing embedded software for Broadcom products across a range of applications.  Broadcom’s market leading products are enabling the next generation of cloud storage, video acceleration, and machine learning.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesValidate new features related to servo formatting and decoding in HDD applicationsSupport existing servo features in HDD applicationsDesign and implement test software for analyzing servo features in HDD controllersDesign and implement firmware for new integrated circuit productsDevelop quality software using best practices for all phases of the software design life cycle – analyze requirements, design solutions, code, test, and support.Firmware integration and bring-up of new hardware and emulated hardwareDebug embedded software using typical lab equipment like in-circuit emulators and logic analyzersAnalysis of new customer feature requests and opportunities to continuously improve the productCollaboration across multiple teams to root cause and resolve issues The Successful Candidate Will:Have written test code and supported servo development in HDD applications.Be comfortable in front of customers and presenting data driven validation reports.Show significant interest in embedded systems development – you love coding and the science of computer and software engineering.Have a passion for continuous improvement and a commitment to creating quality output.Exhibit strong teamwork skills as part of a fast moving, multi-site team.Have a strong familiarity with an EE lab and its instruments – scopes, logic analyzers, waveform generators, etc. QualificationsMinimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering8+ years of experience supporting hard disk drive servo developmentIn depth experience in C and PythonAdditional Job Description:Compensation and BenefitsThe annual base salary range for this position is $91,200 - $152,000.This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.Broadcom offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package: Medical, dental and vision plans, 401(K) participation including company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company paid holidays, paid sick leave and vacation time.
