Why Box needs you
At the moment, we are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a new Content Experiences team, which is working on new features to support use cases for metadata-driven line of business applications on our platform. Box has long provided tools for enterprises to manage their content, including a powerful metadata engine that allows high scale sophisticated SQL-like query across documents. As we build out Box AI, we are re-imagining the user experience for these metadata features to take advantage of what we see as an inflection point in the traditional Enterprise Content Management market. Your expertise is essential to our journey in shaping tomorrow's content management landscape!
Who you are
Ideally, you have over 2 years of experience as a software engineering manager, leading teams responsible for high-scale production services.
You possess at least 5 years of professional software development experience, contributing to the development of full-stack web applications and/or distributed systems.
You excel at aligning and executing new technical ideas, demonstrating an understanding of best practices.
Proven experience in driving effective execution with agile processes in a dynamic environment.
A people-oriented leader, capable of modelling and fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
Exceptional at communicating, passionate about technology and committed to raising the bar.
Experience working with distributed teams across different time zones is advantageous.
Proficient in English.
Bonus Points
Hands-on experience designing and building cloud-native architecture for AWS, GCP, or similar.
Experience with metadata features
Passion for open source and staying abreast of community developments.
Expectations
Lead a team of experienced engineers in Poland.
Define the team's roadmap, execution plans, and take ownership of project delivery.
Develop team members through 1:1s, career planning, coaching discussions, and hiring.

Represent Box internally and externally.
