The Role:
12 month contract, with possible extension or conversion (40 hours/week)
Location: New York City area - Remote/Hybrid
Hourly Rate: $30-$50/hr DOE
The ideal candidate for this position should be highly detailed and analytical, able to excel in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, assisting with a number of risk management-related initiatives (e.g., Third-Party Risk Management, Business Continuity Planning, RCSA, Risk Event Reporting etc). This role will report to the Head of Operational Risk Management and will also support ERM and TPRM activities, as needed.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the enhancement of various Risk Management Programs, including but not limited to Business Continuity Management / Operational Resiliency (BCM / OR) ; Data Governance and Data Privacy (DGDP) , Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs); Operational Risk Event Reporting, Third Party Risk management (TPRM), among other things.
Aid with the enhancement of the Business Continuity Management / Operational Resiliency Framework, including updating related policies and procedures, execution of Business Impact Analysis (BIA), etc .
Help with Data Governance and Data Privacy-related tasks.
Other Responsibilities:
Assist with enhancing TPRM Framework, including onboarding processes to a new GRC platform.
Help with ERM-related tasks, including onboarding processes to a new GRC platform.
Assist with creating and standardizing risk management reporting for senior management, including various committees and the Board.
Assist with documenting the firm’s core processes and key controls, including mapping out detailed process flows.
Work cross-functionally with ERM, business units and functional areas to support and drive a collaborative environment.
Qualifications:
Must have advanced technical and analytical skills (e.g., Excel/VBA/Power BI).
Proven track record in business analysis, data analysis, process and control improvements, project management.
Strong experience with writing policies and procedures, working with risk management systems, including GRC platforms.
Understanding of operational risk identification and assessment of risks, including control testing.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including relationship management skills, work ethic and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
Ability to work well independently and as a member of a team, which includes the ability to be flexible, adaptable and a quick learner; adept at dealing with ambiguity and be able to articulate complex issues / incidents in a concise and straightforward manner.
3-5 years of experience within Operational Risk Management, Audit, or Compliance.
Undergraduate degree, preferably in Business, Finance or Economics.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Business, Finance or Economics.
US and / or international regulatory compliance experience (e.g., FINRA, FRB, OCC, PCAOB, SEC, BaFin) is a plus.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CTPRP, CTPRA, CRISC, CISSP, CISM).
