Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. What You’ll Do: Archer is seeking a highly motivated and talented Flight Sciences Engineer Inter to join our dynamic team. This internship opportunity provides hands-on experience in Flight Sciences and an opportunity to contribute to real-world projects. The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced engineering team, gaining exposure to various aspects of the engineering process. Collaborate with the engineering team to contribute to design and development aspects  Conduct research on relevant engineering topics, analyze data, and present findings to support project decisions Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports Participate in the creation of prototypes and assist in testing and evaluating their performance Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, operations and other engineering teams, to ensure a seamless integration of engineering solutions Actively participate in problem-solving activities, proposing innovative solutions and troubleshooting issues as they arise What You Need: Currently enrolled in a degree program related to engineering, computer science or a related field at an accredited university, preferably a Junior going in to your Senior year Course work in physics, flight dynamics, aerodynamics, optimization, feedback controls, and/or linear algebra Strong academic performance in relevant coursework Experience with python, MATLAB and/or Simulink Strong attention to detail and accuracy Effective communication and teamwork abilities Self-managed and committed to working in a fast-paced environment  Results focused  Aligned with Archer’s core values  Bonus Qualifications: Familiarity with the aviation industry Experience working with drones, RC vehicles, or piloted flying vehicles Experience working in a research lab   Please note that this job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position and does not include an exhaustive list of responsibilities and qualifications. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
