Our mission is to deliver a world-class Service Discovery solution that supports secure, scalable and highly available distributed systems. We are seeking candidates with a keen interest in developing innovative distributed systems solutions at scale.These critical solutions underpin the foundational layers of the Workday stack, ensuring optimal performance across both Private Data Centers and Public Cloud environments such as AWS and GCP.About the RoleWe are looking for SRE candidates skilled in solving distributed systems design and deployment challenges, while driving automation for secure, scalable, and self-healing systems. A Senior SRE in our team should have a solid background in Infrastructure as Code, deploying JVM applications using Chef and Kubernetes. They will have the opportunity to work in an evolving micro services environment where resilience, performance and security are key requirements. Responsibilities:Design, deploy, and tune critical infrastructure for distributed applications, focusing on automation, high availability, scalability, and self-healing capabilities.Engage in the development and maintenance of Restful services, service-oriented architecture, distributed systems, cloud systems, and microservices.Utilize configuration management tools like Chef.Work with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration frameworks like Kubernetes.Contribute to the observability, monitoring, and alerting frameworks to ensure industry best practices are implemented.Conduct performance analysis and optimization for distributed systems to ensure efficient resource use and swift response times.Design runbooks and codify remediation flows for systematic issue resolution.Troubleshoot and resolve issues within distributed systems.Lead and coordinate teams for larger projects to ensure timely delivery.Collaborate effectively within a world-class engineering teamAbout YouBasic QualificationsBachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science or a related field.5+ years of commercial SRE experienceExcellent communication and teamwork / collaboration ability.Experience with continuous integrations and deployment using Jenkins, Bamboo, or similarSignificant experience with configuration management tools such as ChefSignificant experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm ) AWSProficiency in Python, Ruby, or similar scripting languages, along with Linux system scripting.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, especially in distributed systems environments. Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with Apache ZooKeeper, Consul, Eureka, or similar technologies is a plus.Familiarity with Go language is a plus.Our Approach to Flexible Work With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote.
