This pivotal role demands an individual who has an expert understanding of global tax strategy and compliance and has a commitment to accuracy. Based in Santa Clara, this position requires an in-person presence, offering a unique opportunity to impact our global operations directly. Key Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and foreign tax regulations, and prepare for and lead audits by tax authorities. Includes domestic and foreign income tax, sales & use tax and unsecured property tax. Prepare/review quarterly and annual worldwide income tax provision (GAAP and non-GAAP) in accordance with ASC 740 and FIN 48. Prepare/review all financial disclosures in quarterly and annual financial statements. Prepare forecasted quarterly tax rates and maintain tax forecast model. Manage the proof of deferred tax assets and liabilities and related valuation allowances. Forecast and advise on the correct timing for the release of valuation allowances. Maintain R&D tax credit model including collection of quarterly R&D tax credit employee time allocations, maintenance of credit carryforwards and related FIN 48 reserves, and support annual credit study. Work closely with external auditors in their review of our quarterly tax provision and financial disclosures. Work closely with third-party foreign accounting firms to prepare all required tax filings. Review and approve all foreign tax filings for accuracy. Advise management and represent Finance regarding the opening of new foreign legal entities. Oversee all domestic and forecast tax projects including annual transfer pricing studies for all foreign subs, R&D tax credit studies for US and Canada, domestic FDII analysis and others. Monitor and analyze final and proposed tax legislation and propose related forecast and appropriate process changes to address the new rules. Lead support for M&A projects, including tax due diligence, review of tax sections in acquisition agreements, and post-acquisition integration/compliance. Oversee risk and financial performance of tax engagements, including billing, collections, and project budgets, ensuring profitability and efficiency. Develop strategies to efficiently resolve any issues. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement tax strategies that align with the company’s goals and regulatory requirements. Serve as a key tax advisor to senior management, participating in strategic meetings and providing tax-related insights that support the company’s growth and operational objectives. Drive process improvements and system implementations to enhance tax function efficiency and accuracy. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field. 15-20 years of experience in tax management, with a focus on corporate tax provisions and related financial disclosures. Experience in a large corporate tax environment in industry and/or Big 4 accounting firm is preferred. Semiconductor experience is preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to monitor and analyze final and proposed tax legislation effectively. Strong project management skills and experience in overseeing risk and financial performance of engagements. Exceptional analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
