Surrounded by extraordinary people, inspiring leaders, and world changing projects, you will do more and become more than you ever thought possible.Responsibilities: -Independently designs and performs experiments, interprets and evaluates results, considers how they may impact own progress and project deliverables and identifies alternate strategies.-Owns and plans experiments within technical area of expertise and may work with and mentor other scientists’ and engineers’ on experiments (includes planning and design as appropriate)-Sets standards and processes for themselves and others in experimental design, data collection and analysis and defines technical requirements for products or small projects (considering robustness, scalability, and cost)-Identifies risks and provides recommendations for risk mitigation in area of responsibility and at critical interfaces to other teams-Provides technical leadership in the lab and mentors supporting scientists, engineers and junior personnel on technical skills in one's area of expertise.Listed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position. Changes to individual responsibilities may occur due to business needs.Requirements:-Demonstrate advanced theoretical understanding of scientific principles within own discipline or advanced knowledge within own discipline and department; mastering most relevant areas.-A sound foundation in experimental design, biochemistry, and molecular biology is desired along with an ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.-A working knowledge of, or background in, Next Generation Sequencing would be advantageous, but is not essential.-An ability to work in a fast-paced environment.-Desire and demonstrated ability to implement complex protocols.-Proficient in standard computer skills; PowerPoint and Excel, standard statistics, graphical data representation.-Able to set technical evaluation acceptance criteria (bake-offs, new projects, collaborations, etc.)-Productive and effective written and verbal communication of observations and technical findings and progress required.All listed requirements are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional task and responsibilities.Preferred Experience/Education/Skills:· Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in the Biological Sciences (e.g. Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biophysics, Chemical Biology, or related field); or 3 years of relevant experience and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experienceThe estimated base salary range for the Senior Scientist (Biochemistry Development) role based in the United States of America is: $88,200 - $132,400. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
