MTS 2, Network Engineer

eBay, Inc. seeks MTS 2, Network Engineer in San Jose, CAJob Duties: Design network systems and plan system implementations. Ensure systems run normally through routine maintenance and testing. Troubleshoot and drive root cause determination for escalated network issues. Interface with worldwide teams to skillfully execute inter-networking tasks on a large and growing site LAN and WAN environment. Be an effective advanced escalation resource for our support engineer staff, including advising on a week-long 24x7 on-call rotations, approximately once every two months.Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.Special Skill Requirements:1.    Assist customers in troubleshooting hardware/software related issues on various platforms. 2.    Troubleshoot error messages and suggest layer-2 / layer-3 switch configurations3.    Support core, distribution and access layers switches4.    Use Layer 2 Cisco’s Switching platform knowledge (e.g. system architecture, switching and forwarding issues) in Catalyst Switches C6500, C4000, C3500, C2900, and other Layer 2 devices to work with customers and BUs5.    Solve customer escalated network severity cases in a timely manner by leveraging Cisco LAN Switch technologies6.    Troubleshooting7.    Defect management Base salary: $234,062 – 262,900 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
