With a focus on craft and execution, you and your team will create innovative and intuitive solutions for our customers — tackling eBay’s more grueling challenges through product discovery and design thinking.Responsibilities:Manages product designers on the Protections team, working with Design leadership to ensure a cohesive user-experience across the product portfolio. Demonstrate thought leadership in the eCommerce and post-transaction spaces, with a focus on building and maintaining customer trustCreate and lead future design strategy for post-transaction and related experiences that balance customer and business needs — while simultaneously delivering on committed workDrive and contribute to the creative direction and execution of products along the customer journey — from identifying problems to deliveryUtilize best-in-class examples as well as research and customer insights to inform decision making, create meaningful solutions and measure outcomesDesign and develop strategy decks and mocks when needed to align teams and to communicate bigger picture visionContribute to departmental planning and budgeting, helping shape and implement team priorities and support company goalsRequirements:10+ years of professional experience in Product Design and BS Degree in interaction design, HCI, industrial design, graphic design, visual communications or equivalent and 2+ years of professional experience managing product designersOutstanding online portfolio that shows a broad range of interaction design work from native apps, web and desktop-based applicationsExperience managing a design team while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentAlign stakeholders on desired outcomes that balance business, product, and engineering needs to ship impactful products on timeHands-on experience leading through ambiguity to build alignment and form a vision that is visualized through storyboarding, scenarios, flows, and prototypes at all levels of fidelityMentor designers and lead design critiques that raise the level of craft for your team in terms of visual design, user experience design and overall design maturityBenefits are an essential part of your total compensation for the work you do every day.
