Apple’s Strategic Data Solutions (SDS) team has an immediate opening for an outstanding Senior Technical Program Manager to help drive strategy and development of our machine learning programs focused on Apple Media Products (AMP) business. The candidate must work well collaboratively and be comfortable in uncertain environments with minimal formal structure and competing priorities. The candidate must be an effective team leader, have solid business acumen and executive communication skills, and possess an analytic / curious mindset. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Significant leadership experience Experience leading successful, high-impact technical programs Strong interpersonal skills — ability to network with individuals at all levels and develop close partnerships Ability to work outside own area of expertise, perform business discovery, simplify and define the problem statement, extract key information, and propose potential analytic approaches Comfort working independently and owning the hard calls on projects Proven ability to drive change through positive influence of co-workers, leadership, and business partners Ability to grasp the technical details of complex business, engineering, and analytic issues and provide in-depth evaluations Proven ability to create and deliver effective executive communication Inquisitiveness and a desire for continued self-improvement and development of new skills Strong verbal / written communication skills Background in fraud systems a plus Data science or machine learning experience a plus Description Description Technical Program Managers deliver process and analytic solutions that have a strategic impact for Apple. They drive decision automation using machine learning that allows Apple to execute with greater speed, control, efficiency, and scale. They help realize business opportunities and balance operational tradeoffs through analytics and data science. Most importantly, they allow Apple to provide exceptional service to each and every one of its customers. SDS Technical Program Managers accomplish this by providing leadership across functional teams to conceptualize, build, and deliver automated decision analytics. This requires continuous problem solving, rapid learning, and an innovative mindset. It also requires discipline, patience, and self-awareness as they work with a variety of business and engineering teams. The candidate’s role will include: Working collaboratively with our team of data scientists, data analysts, and program managers Developing partnerships with key business managers across a variety of Apple teams that can support current and future initiatives Identifying new business opportunities and developing solutions that balance impact, cost, resourcing, timeline, success likelihood, and analytic risk Translating business needs into initiatives with well-defined business requirements Developing and prioritizing analytic development projects Managing business critical metrics Providing day-to-day project management that includes: coordinating activities by internal teams and partners, tracking progress towards milestones, continuously adapting plans to changes, and keeping teams and leadership updated on status Leading regular communication with teammates, partners, and leadership and conducting periodic reviews with executive sponsors.
