Within AMR Operations Business Process Re-engineering (BPR), the Business Operations Manager is responsible for managing and developing a diverse team of systems, data and desktop support specialists for the Americas Operations teams, while encouraging innovation and process improvement. You will make a substantial impact by collaborating across multiple AMR Operations (Finished Goods as well as AppleCare Logistics), Worldwide, Global, and Apple Cross functional (AOS, Finance, RCDX, IS&T) teams to ensure that systems, data or desktop issues are quickly evaluated and resolved, with impacts communicated to our business partners, as well as leadership, in a timely and clear manner. The role requires a high degree of analytical ability, strong communication skills and Apple systems knowledge. You will interact with various Operations teams to provide insights into existing systems design, and mediate between the business teams and IS&T to assist the team with resolving problems or answering questions. The BOM manager is highly collaborative and possesses a unique blend of business and technical expertise, a big-picture vision and understanding of our existing (and future) system architecture, and the drive and tactical ability to ensure that the team executes flawlessly to support the business. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Minimum: 5-7 years of relevant work experience as a line manager or team lead, ideally in an Operations role with order to cash and plan to manufacture process knowledge Advanced understanding of SAP systems and processes (SAP SD, MM, APO, TMS, GRC, GTS, BOBJ), including ECC and S/4 HANA, as well as electronic messaging such as EDI. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate at all organizational levels. Ability to work in a high stress, fast-changing environment, with a team that provides 24x7x365 pager support with frequent demand to work after normal business hours (i.e. nights, weekends, holidays), including pager support. Strong ability to manage without authority. Experience with crisis management and multi-tasking multiple system issues at once. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to appropriately gauge risk. Experience with Tableau, Teradata, Snowflake and Business Objects technologies. Excellent people management skills; can influence others and to quickly establish trust and credibility to achieve organizational goals. Executive Presence - proven ability to effectively and succinctly present complex topics, initiatives, post-mortem, proposals to a diverse leadership audience. Proactive and creative problem-solving techniques for issue resolution. Communicates clearly and professionally with our business partners on the status of systems issues and resolution strategy. Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills required to serve diverse customer base and deal effectively with escalating issues. Works in strategic, tactical, and operational capacity to improve quality and speed of Excellent collaboration skills across GEOs, WW, India BPR and Ops functional teams and Apple cross functional teams. Demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset in the ticket triage, root cause analysis and corrective action process chain where automation and AI/ML can be used strengthen the overall process. Description Description Receive assignments in the form of objectives and determine how to use resources to meet schedules and goals by delegating to team members. Can proactively see gaps in processes or systems and challenge the status quo through innovative ideas and process automation. Comfortable making the hard calls with respect to system downtime issues as it correlates with operational objectives such as potential for missed quotes or lost shipping capacity. Lead initiatives and support escalations by working with staff to analyze complex business problems to be solved in Apple systems. Work flow can consist of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) requests, formal tickets escalated through ticketing database, emails as well as requests to act as part of a collaborative cross-functional team to support events or adhoc initiatives. Plan, develop, manage and prioritize the activities of the team who provide technical expertise in identifying, triaging and evaluating system issues and the impact on the overall ability of operations to execute. Advise business groups by providing technical and strategic direction to identify and address business issues and opportunities. Support and lead the team during business critical events to ensure systems issues are immediately identified, escalated or resolved (ex. New Product Introduction, Peak/Holiday, Technical Upgrades/Support Packs, Quarter End Close). Develop and provide metrics reporting to leadership teams, as well as business partners, to identify trends and opportunities for training or technical enhancements.
