Grid History Team is responsible for preserving and managing the petabyte-scale historical data of cells and sheet changes within Smartsheet. Our focus lies in developing robust backend solutions to capture, store, and retrieve this critical historical data. By ensuring the reliability and accessibility of past actions, we empower users to make informed decisions and maintain comprehensive audit trails. Our dedicated efforts contribute to the overall integrity and functionality of the Smartsheet platform, used by the biggest companies in the world. Our tech-stack includes AWS cloud and open-source technologies, including DynamoDB, SNS, Kinesis, EKS, Golang, Terraform, and more.
This is a remote internship at Smartsheet, based in the UK. You will report to a Smartsheet Manager for 12 weeks over the summer months.
You Will:
Gain hands-on, real-world experience as you develop and maintain core components of our grid history service.
Take part in code reviews and architectural discussions as you collaborate within a diverse, dynamic team.
Pair with experienced engineers to diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues at scale.
Optimize system performance and algorithms to help improve reliability and latency of the platform.
You Have:
Starting final years of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related program.
Proficient in Golang, C, Java, or similar language.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Enthusiasm for problem solving and troubleshooting at scale.
Must be legally eligible to work in the UK on an ongoing basis
