Iterative Health is pioneering the use of artificial intelligence-based precision medicine in gastroenterology, with the aim of helping to optimize clinical trials investigating the treatment of IBD. We use advanced machine learning and computer vision to interpret endoscopic videos along with other types of data, helping clinicians better assess patients with potential GI problems. Ultimately, the company aims to establish more meaningful endpoints to serve as better predictors of both therapeutic response and disease outcomes.

As the founding member of the Design team, you’ll be helping us define and build our next-gen medical products and AI platform and have the opportunity to meaningfully shape our products and improve patient outcomes. You’ll guide the design of our products and features from conception to launch. In addition, you will work with our product, engineering and marketing teams to own and establish the end-to-end design process including user research, UX design and partnering with our engineering team to deliver on the design vision.
What You'll Be Doing:
Design Champion: Champion and implement a culture of user-centered design and design thinking methodology while constantly raising the design bar.
User centricity: Understand the needs and paint points for our physicians and design for complex workflows in order to improve patient outcomes. Conduct and synthesize user research into actionable insights and utilize learnings to design solutions that improve patient outcomes.
Technical Product Design: Understand the needs of our internal users as we build out our AI platform
Product design: Work with our product and engineering teams to go from 0 to 1 on our products. Collaborate to define solutions to problems, product requirements, user stories, and success metrics.
Driving simplicity in ambiguity: Simplify complexity by breaking down tough problems and developing actionable solutions. Drive progress through your designs, to help your team take the next action or make the next decision.
Product Development: Work closely with Engineering to ensure a high-quality implementation and user experience.
Required Skills:
End to end design experience: 5+ years of design experience at a tech company developing complex designs from initial concepts through to market adoption & outcomes, alongside product management and engineering with a portfolio that demonstrates this
Designing holistically: Ability to t hink and design at the system level through a strong understanding of UI foundations, design systems, designing with data, and balancing data with provider insights to inform product decisions
Agile design: Experienced in working in agile design with the ability to connect with both healthcare providers and deeply technical teams.
Scrappiness: Experience working proactively, iterating, and shipping quickly to meet changing business demands on a small team or as the sole designer
Collaboration: Ability to build strong partnerships with multidisciplinary teams and foster collaboration during design rituals
Excited about having an impact in the GI space and improving patient outcomes
Skilled with design tools (Figma etc) and ways of communicating design
Preferred Skills:
Healthcare and medtech experience a plus
Experience designing both consumer facing products and internal technical products
Experience designing hardware/medical device products
Applicant note: Iterative Health is running a 3 month return to office pilot for any employee within a 45 minute commute of our Cambridge, MA; Dallas, TX; or New York City offices.
