Join the team and create the future of customer experience together.Job Title: Patent Counsel (India)Location: Chennai, IndiaThe Patent Counsel is primarily responsible for identifying patent opportunities, drafting and filing patent applications, and handling prosecution matters for intellectual property critical to Genesys’ success.  Secondarily, the Patent Counsel is expected to aid the legal team and outside counsel to prosecute patent infringements and to assist in the defense of patents asserted against Genesys.Key Responsibilities:Prepare, review, and file Indian Patent and Trademark Office communications including, but not limited to, new applications, responses to Office Actions, and other communications.Assisting in evaluating invention disclosures.Providing patent advice to engineering groups within the company.Evaluate exposure to patents asserted against the Company and assist in the defense of such claims.Work with external counsel on various legal matters related to Intellectual Property transactions, US and International.Assist in other substantive duties and special projects as requested by the Deputy General Counsel, IP & Product.Minimum Requirements:Citizen of IndiaRegistered Patent Agent in good standing with the Controller in India.Degree in law and registered to practice as an attorney is strongly desired. Background in computer software or telecommunications preferred with prior patent prosecution experience strongly preferred.Functional knowledge of PCT practice.3-5 years of experience.Desirable Skills:Communicates regularly with colleagues, management, and outside counsel.Seeks out patent opportunities from company employees.Ability to function as an integral part of the legal team, development groups, company divisions, and individually.Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse set of personalities and cultures.Legally eligible to work in India.If a Genesys employee referred you, please use the link they sent you to apply.About Genesys:Every year, Genesys orchestrates billions of remarkable customer experiences for organizations in more than 100 countries.
