Surrounded by extraordinary people, inspiring leaders, and world changing projects, you will do more and become more than you ever thought possible.Position Summary: The Manager, Bioinformatics Sales Specialists will be responsible for leading and managing the AMEA informatics specialist team, which leverage deep informatics/software/bioinformatics expertise and product knowledge into compelling positioning, competitive and selling strategies.   The goal is to promote rapid adoption of lllumina solutions resulting in increased sales success by providing segment and technical knowledge into sales opportunities. The Manager, Bioinformatics Sales Specialists will develop key sales opportunities and build a community of satisfied customers by working with district sales personnel and marketing in both pre- and post-sales activities. Management responsibilities also include recruitment and driving performance management of the Bioinformatics Specialist team in AMEA.  Additional travel outside of the region may be required to support this goal.Position Responsibilities: Lead a team of Bioinformatics Sales Specialists within AMEATalent Acquisition activities which include identifying needs of the department, justification for budget to fill positions, coordinating with HR to market the position, review resumes, conduct interviews and identify and recommend a candidate as the potential hire, and employee orientation to the department and company.Talent Development activities which include developing training plans with employees to ensure they have the necessary expertise to successfully perform their jobs, provide ongoing guidance to employees, and career counseling to help employees develop and advance in their careersDetermine role expectations and accurately record the primary responsibilities, qualifications and termsPerformance Management activities include setting performance standards, ensuring employees have appropriate and realistic job goals, providing ongoing feedback about employees’ performance, conducting performance appraisals, including assessing how the employees have performed and how they can improve their performance, developing performance improvement plans if employees’ performance is not adequate and providing rewards for employee accomplishments.Ensure employees follow all applicable company policies and proceduresWork with the commercial team to set sales goals/quotas for the informatics team, regularly reviewing performance through sales opportunity management, forecasting and reporting.In collaboration with district sales and marketing teams, develop and execute strategic plans for winning new business, expanding market share, and building upon existing programs manifested by a qualified pipeline of opportunities.Regularly communicate updates to regional and global teams of regional informatics sales performance, trends and any issues in the software/informatics portfolio, competitor activities, or other issues emerging.Be a subject matter expert for Bioinformatics and software solutions and the voice of customer to regional management, global product management, marketing and market developmentHave a deep knowledge of Illumina’s products and the value to customersAdvise customers on technical aspects such as workflows, design, possible solutions, product positioning and competitor comparisons.
