Defines package requirements for product groups and customer requirements. Develops recommendations according to the nature of the product, cost limitations, legal requirements, and the type of protection required, taking into consideration the need for resistance to external variables. Provide technical support for cost savings activities, packaging design test execution and data analysis.May be responsible for coordination of activities and logistics at secondary contract packaging and labeling sites. Responsibilities may include documentation management and an understanding of good manufacturing practices (GMPs). Uses appropriate tools and performs integrity analysis of packaging and improves manufacturing techniques.Responsibilities:Work cross-functionally on mildly complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factorsExercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining resultsAcquire and maintain a clear understanding of the technologies utilized in Illumina’s products, parts, and servicesTeam member on project teams responsible for developing package systemsDesign and select primary, secondary and tertiary packaging components and suppliersWrite specifications and technical protocols/reports for primary, secondary and tertiary packaging components and associated qualifications and/or validationsCoordinate artwork/labeling developmentInterface with internal teams and external suppliers to conduct packaging testing (including shipping validations) of packaging materials and packaged componentsDevelop and implement applicable procedures and work instructions for development aspects of packagingDevelop cold chain management systems including qualification and specificationsListed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
