Dialpad is looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Analyst to join its Global Payroll Team in a high-growth AI tech company. You will play a critical role, providing employee payroll support globally, and ensuring employees are paid accurately and timely through processing of payroll batches, reconciliations and other payroll tasks as assigned. You are detailed-oriented, and have strong analytical and problem solving skills. You have exceptional communication skills, pride yourself on high customer service to internal employees, and have the ability to jump right into payroll operations with minimal supervision. You will report to the Global Payroll Manager in a remote or hybrid role (location dependent).
Position responsibilities:
Process, prepare and reconcile US and Canada payroll, including for variable compensation, off-cycle payroll, terminations and ad-hoc payments as needed.
Directly assist employees and managers in payroll-related education, questions or issues.
Support in system integrations between the People and payroll systems to ensure accurate and complete data.
Partner with People Operations, Finance, Treasury and other departments on ongoing process improvements.
Monitor Time & Attendance timesheets and processing for non-exempt employees, ensuring accuracy and policy compliance for US and Canada employees.
Work with third-party vendors (e.g. ADP,Unified Global) to create payroll cases and process off-cycle adjustments as necessary.
Assist with external audits (e.g. year-end financial audit, 401(k), workers’ compensation) through providing supporting records and documentation.
Assist with year-end W2 reconciliation and reporting.
Maintain organized and detailed payroll records, and ensure all payroll data and changes are accurately and completely reflected in the payroll system.
Register new State/SUI/Local payroll tax, and enter new tax jurisdictions into payroll systems.
Keep informed of federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations to ensure company compliance.
Process benefits contributions (e.g. HSA, DSA, FSA, commuter), monitor for changes and reconcile data to ensure benefits statements reconcile to payroll deductions.
Resolve payroll issues independently through research, analysis, knowledge of best practices and proposal of reasonable solutions.
Assist in international payroll as needed and other payroll related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
8 years direct payroll experience processing US multi-state and Canadian payroll
Solid experience using ADP Workforce Now
Experience with accounting, tax and finance concepts relating to payroll.
Ability to work in a face-paced, dynamic, multi-priority environment while maintaining firm deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to work with internal and external parties while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Proficiency with MS Excel (pivot tables, vlookups), MS Word and Google Sheets.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle workload fluctuations and multiple requests.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Knowledge and mindset for automation and process improvements for scalability.
Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.
NetSuite experience preferred.
Experience with stock-payroll transactions preferred.
Bamboo or Workday HRIS experience preferred.
