Surrounded by extraordinary people, inspiring leaders, and world changing projects, you will do more and become more than you ever thought possible.Responsibilities: Work independently in cross-functional teams to lead the automated test scripting effort on multiple applicationsWork in a scrum environment with daily standups, bi-weekly demos and sprint planning meetingsDesign/execute Test Cases and ensure adequate Functional/code coverageDocument and maintain record of software verification as per standards given by Illumina's Global Quality Organization.Work collaboratively with Test engineers and developers to build a maintainable Test Automation.Work with software developers, scientists and domain experts in understanding requirements of the software and translating test cases into automated test scriptsCollaborate with peers to identify opportunities for process improvementRequirements: 1-2 years of experience in Test Planning, Test Designing and Test Execution.Experience or knowledge of different phase and level of software testing (Unit Testing, Functional Testing, Integration Testing and System Testing)Fluent in SQL on any RDBMS (MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL).Good verbal and written communication and troubleshooting skillsBasic understanding of biology/genetics/NGS preferred, but not requiredWorking experience with object-oriented programming (such as C#,Java).Listed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position.  Changes to individual responsibilities may occur due to business needs.The estimated base salary range for the Software Test Engineer 1 role based in the United States of America is: $67,000 - $100,600. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
