The Challenge
As Senior Staff Engineer works more in a leadership role across multiple product lines / technologies.
An opportunity to think ahead for strategic planning and execution and develop key technologies to enhance long term proprietary strategic position.
Create new concepts from initial design to market release.
Your Mission
Develop and execute complex, multi-tier distributed software applications/services.
Perform feasibility studies to validate capability and functionality.
Research and assess current technologies.
Draft and submit intellectual property.
Draft and submit professional articles for technical journals.
Document all phases of research and development.
Create technical and domain expertise and apply to products and problems.
Offer advanced technical expertise to design and develop software applications.
Calculate development tasks and set up plans for deliverables on release deadlines.
Manage and assist current software applications/services.
Evaluate and synthesize vendor activities to assist development.
Assess and write code to improve or extend application.
Guide technical support personnel and handle project.
Determine and resolve complex application issues and bugs.
You Will
Offer advanced technical expertise to design and develop software applications.
Evaluate and execute new market research methods development.
Interact with Consumer reports technical support personnel to determine testing and changes and model development.
Collaborate with product managers and technical groups to address important customer issues and find innovative solutions to difficult problems.
Institute programs with customers and suppliers to enhance products, performance and quality.
Support and Senior and Principal Engineers to analyze data, solve problems and complete projects.
Develop key technologies to enhance long term proprietary strategic position.
Support software development and engineering through research leading to new or improved software products (cloud and/or in-house).
Research and collect product information and support the development of specifications and requirements for consideration.
Remain aware of technological trends and advancements and recommend strategic product enhancements to ensure product relevancy and support revenue growth.
Build out onboarding and mentoring programs to teach and train other engineers, and you make them significantly more valuable members of the team.
Evaluate all vendor products and provide optimal recommendation to improve all products/services.
You Are
Understand and explain the big picture.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of stakeholders, support personnel, and clients.
Experience leading teams, either directly or indirectly. Ability to influence and build collaborative teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
Minimum of 18+ years of engineering experience with a strong track record of successful development and delivery of complex, enterprise-class software that resulted in material market impact.
Recent experiences in development, operations, troubleshooting, and/or managing cloud services.
Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP is a must
Should have built cloud services and able to understand how to operate in the DevOps model.
Proven critical thinking and advanced analytical skills and qualities.
Strong consulting soft skills and tactful conflict management skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with effective written and oral communication are required.
Systematic problem-solving approach coupled with a strong sense of ownership and drive.
Systems design and architecture experience.
Passion to build large scalable systems.
Design and architecting large complex distributed systems.
Deep knowledge of data structures and programming
Ability to think of various Algorithms, given a problem.
Experience integrating with third-party Web Services.
Solid understanding of agile software development lifecycle
Able to balance multiple tasks and projects effectively and quickly adapt to new situations.
Ability to drive initiatives across locations and drive major architectural decisions.
Extra Impressive
Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical or business field
Have a track record of innovative and creative thinking.
For California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, and Washington-based candidates: the annual base pay range for this role is listed below. Within this range, individual pay is determined by several factors, including location, job-related skills, work experience, and relevant education and/or training. This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, equity, and/or commissions, as well as benefits. Salary Range $240,150 — $360,187.50 USD
