Manager/Senior Manager Tax EMEAJoin Infinera's global team working from LisbonInfinera is seeking an EMEA Manager/Senior Manager of Tax focusing on Income Tax Compliance and Reporting to join its EMEA tax team based in Lisbon, Portugal. This position will be a key part of the Global Tax Team. The successful candidate will have experience with a wide range of international tax issues, ideally including experience with a U.S. based multinational company. The successful candidate must have the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment and work closely and proactively with numerous functional teams across our organization. The position will be based in Infinera’s EMEA location in Lisbon, Portugal, reporting to the EMEA Tax Director in London, United Kingdom. Your responsibilities will be across the Europe, Middle East and Africa region (EMEA).You will be interacting with other members of the finance team as well as business partners outside of finance. RESPONSIBILITIES:Management of Corporate Income Tax Compliance process within EMEA, including:Review of Corporation Tax Returns, Withholding Tax Returns, generally prepared by external advisors, for the EMEA entities.Collaborate with the company's external advisors and ensure all required information for the preparation of the returns is provided and timely submission of returns.Manage tax payment process across the EMEA region and assist in cash tax and tax expense forecasting.Prepare and analyse monthly Tax Account Roll ForwardsCooperate with Finance and Tax Team colleagues in the analysis of the correctness of the Transfer Pricing bookings for the region, as well as provide the necessary facts/data in order to fulfil local TP filing obligations.Prepare/review any statutory tax provision and footnotes and sign off on any tax matter reported in the local subsidiaries’ financial statements. Work closely with the EMEA Finance team.Management of ASC 740 (Accounting for Income Taxes) for the entire EMEA regionPrepare/review tax provision calculations, usually prepared by external advisors on an interim and annual basis under ASC 740.Prepare provision to return calculations.Prepare/review the quarterly income tax provision for group reporting purposes.Review and, when required, prepare the analysis of FIN48 for standard and non-standard provisions.Prepare journal entries.Review, analyse and approve intercompany settlements from a withholding tax perspective.Understand, identify, and address complex domestic and cross-border tax matters.Work with external advisors in monitoring and analysing proposed and newly enacted EMEA tax legislation which may impact local entities.Work collaboratively with colleagues in Finance, Legal, Internal Audit, M&A and Planning teams. Liaise on direct tax and tax accounting issues. Also, ensure and monitor that appropriate internal controls are in place over tax accounting.Opportunity for involvement in ad hoc advisory matters.Assist the EMEA Tax Director in special projects, e.g. legal entity rationalization, tax planning initiatives, tax modelling, tax audits.SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:Qualified Taxation professional, Big 4 background, and experience of working in-house would be beneficial. Minimum 7-10 years post qualification experience, ideally in a technology organization, or alternatively in a Big 4 environment with experience of dealing with the issues facing technology organizations.Pan European Tax Compliance experienceSolid GAAP Financial Accounting knowledgeStrong tax technical understanding of and practical experience with tax accounting (ASC 740)General Transfer Pricing knowledgeExperience being part of a Global Tax TeamAbility to multi-task, and to adapt to changing prioritiesExpert level Excel skillsWorking knowledge of SAP, OTP preferredStrong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in English (written and oral)Infinera is an equal opportunity employer.
