If you already have a Candidate Account, please Sign-In before you apply.Job Description:Job DescriptionAn IC Validation Lab Technician performs routine technical and physical tasks in multiple labs to support the digital/analog validation of Broadcom storage controllers, expanders, and switches.  Main technical responsibilities include rework of electronic equipment via hand soldering or using BGA rework equipment. Setup and tear down of servers and workstations used in validation tests, troubleshooting non-functioning equipment, and submitting repair/replace orders.  Physical responsibilities include checking in/out equipment in a database, helping to accurately track internal/external lab inventory, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the labs and storage facilities.  Skills/ResponsibilitiesAble to identify, remove and replace electronic components (resistors, capacitors, etc.) down to 0201 packages using hand-held solder rework equipment.Familiarity with BGA rework equipment.Able to perform rework on fine pitch parts such as placing 30 AWG wire onto fine pitch component leads, lifting of leads, removal, and replacement of fine pitch parts.Able to read and perform PCB rework from electrical schematics and written directions.Ability to use variable magnification optical microscope for rework assignments.A high degree of attention to detail and order.    Exceptional planning skills.  Ability to develop and execute plans for changes in lab equipment, configuration, and policy.Exceptional physical organizational skills.  Technician must be able to keep all lab inventory well organized while in storage and be able to easily identify and locate inventory for check-out. Alert management to any shortages of lab equipment/material/supplies and assist in obtaining competitive quotes for restocking.   Manage equipment inventory to regularly identify and dispose of obsolete and unused equipment.Good communication skills.  Communicate issues/problems, both written and verbally in a clear and concise manner.  ESD awareness.  Have knowledge of anti-static workspace.Education and Experience Associate degree in a technical field preferred6+ years related experience.Additional Job Description:Compensation and BenefitsThe salary range for this position is $32.65 - $46.65 per hour. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents. Broadcom offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package: Medical, dental and vision plans, 401(K) participation including company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company paid holidays, paid sick leave and vacation time.
