We embrace diversity in thought and contribution and are committed to providing an equitable work environment that is foundational to our core values as a company and is vital to our success. Critical Facilities Mechanical Efficiency SpecialistJob SummaryThe Critical Facilities Mechanical Efficiency Specialist reviews data center facilities operations and makes recommendations for energy efficiency.  This position will have responsibility for all data center locations in the West (Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Denver, Seattle, Silicon Valley, and Los Angeles metros), some travel may be required (10% or less), home office will be in Silicon Valley.     Responsibilities Physically walk the data centers Review facility sequence of operation, analyze system performance, and recommend changes Compile energy efficiency data, review trends to assess effectiveness of actions that have been taken and make recommendations for future actions  Develop and maintain 5 year plan including relevant SOWs  Maintain ISO 50001 energy certifications Uses evaluation, judgment, and interpretation to select right course of action  Collaborates across multi-functional and cross geographical teams   Qualifications 5+ years experience demonstrating expert-level understanding of HVAC equipment operation in a mission critical environment  Hands on maintenance and/or operation of chilled water plants experience preferred Prior experience as a critical facilities engineer strongly preferred  Working knowledge of control systems Equinix is an Equal Employment Opportunity and, in the U.S., an Affirmative Action employer.
