OverviewBlue Yonder is seeking a highly motivated Corporate Counsel – Privacy (Syndikusrechtsanwalt) who is passionate about technology and eager to contribute to a U.S.-based global SaaS growth company that is at the forefront of technology and innovation. This pivotal role will be an integral part of our dynamic global Legal and Privacy Team, reporting directly to the Associate General Counsel/ Global Privacy Lead based in Germany.We are seeking an agile, inquisitive, and positive-minded individual with excellent communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and a proactive attitude towards continuous learning in the privacy field. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and embrace change enthusiastically.QualificationsSuccessful completion of the first and second judicial state examination in GermanyPreferably admitted to the bar as a “Syndikusrechtsanwalt”Demonstrated expertise in Privacy Law with a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of conflicting local laws, cultural sensitivities, and local requirements.Language SkillsFluent in German and English languages are essential. Additional language skills are desirable but not required.ResponsibilitiesProvide practical legal advice and commercial counsel on various data protection issues, including GDPR compliance and privacy laws in jurisdictions where Blue Yonder operates, to teams including Product Development, Marketing, Finance, IT, Security, and Associate Success.Serve as an additional point of contact for the Global Legal Team, offering initial support for specific Privacy-related inquiries and questions.Support Blue Yonder’s Privacy by Design strategy for new products and solutions.Contribute to the ongoing development of Blue Yonder’s Global Privacy Program, including updating and creating legal documents, policies, and contract templates to align with new legal requirements in respective countries under the guidance of the Global Privacy Lead.Assist in maintaining records of processing activities and conducting data protection impact assessments as part of Blue Yonder’s Data Governance program.Develop and deliver training sessions for Blue Yonder associates and act as a liaison to the Compliance organization.Participate in customer and vendor contract negotiations related to data and privacy terms.Stay updated on emerging areas of laws such as Generative Artificial Intelligence/ Large Language Models and other relevant industry-related issues.Undertake other responsibilities and special projects in support of the Global Legal Team’s goals and initiatives.What we are looking for: A fully qualified Corporate Counsel under German law, having successfully completed the first and second judicial state examination, preferably admitted to the bar as a “Syndikusrechtswalt”.Minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing privacy-focused attorney, including experience in a law firm and / or in-house corporate legal department.Experience in Privacy-related SaaS and cloud computing is highly desirable.Ability to provide confident recommendations to business teams and leaders and translate complex legal requirements into layman’s terms.Strong analytical skills with a customer-centric and solutions-oriented approach while safeguarding the company's best interests.Excellent research, writing, analytical, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills in both German and English.Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and can manage multiple assignments effectively.Exceptional attention to detail, self-starter mentality, and ability to collaborate with individuals at all levels within the company and across the globe.Our ValuesIf you want to know the heart of a company, take a look at their values.
