We are looking for a highly motivated DevOps engineer to join us in helping Workday to deliver reliable, resilient SaaS products to our customers. This team handles all standards-based eLearning content within Workday, which empowers our customers to gain and share knowledge, communicate, learn new skills, and grow their careers. This position will partner closely with the wider Learning group and teams based in Canada and the U.S.A.About the RoleAs a DevOps engineer in our team, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting edge cloud platform technologies (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes) and implement tools to automate maintenance and support our engineering environments. You will also work closely with our Platform Engineering team to deploy changes to our engineering environments with a view to enabling verification of these changes.About YouWhat will you be doing?Design, build, enhance, and maintain large-scale customer facing systems using AWS and GCP, specifically to enable end users to engage with media contentContribute to gathering technical requirements and architectural decision makingMentor other developers by sharing your expertiseRespond to production monitoring: triage, fix, and resolution. Retro and act on incidents to continually improve our systems and processes.Deliver reliable software through continuous integration, automated testing, and in-depth code reviewsDrive process and tooling improvementsWork on an Agile Scrum team that delivers on shared commitmentsBasic Qualifications:5 + years DevOps experienceExperience with public Cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)5 + years of working knowledge of one or more major programming languages including Java, or Python.A proven track record of delivering and scaling production quality softwareOther QualificationsA degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experienceProficiency with at least one deployment automation / configuration management tool (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Puppet)Proven track record of building tooling, automation, and/or services in one or multiple languages (e.g., Go, Python, Ruby or Java)Experience debugging and optimizing systems and codeAbility to architect, analyze, and support complex distributed systemsAutomating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications with Docker or KubernetesPassion to optimize and automate, with the maturity to know when and where it’s appropriate.Our Approach to Flexible Work With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote.
