Staff Motion Designer

This team is a comprehensive, horizontal design team that spans taste-making, strategy, visual, experience, content, and motion design. Our main focus is evolving our product and brand experience to a higher level of consistency and innovation for our current and future eBay customers.Evolution is eBay’s product design system. It is a catalyst to synthesize previous design systems into a unified eBay experience across all platforms. This new system modernizes the eBay experience, while thoughtfully retaining what is most familiar to customers.As a Staff Motion Designer on eBay's Design Systems team, you will help to define and drive the future state of our motion design language working across all domain experiences in collaboration with our leadership team, design leads and product partners. Your key responsibility will be in making compelling user experiences (user interface designs, interaction models, prototypes, etc.) that improve.You will also be integral in helping us craft the new eBay visual language through storytelling and developing compelling presentation videos. You will work closely with design, product management, brand, marketing, and engineering to successfully go from early stage product concepts to launch. You are a very creative innovator that can translate business needs into a fantastic customer-focused solution. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open and collaborative peer environment. The ideal candidate for this position will be at ease visualizing an experience in the abstract and then being able to drive that vision into solid design deliverables.Responsibilities:Create the vision for crafting unique and compelling motion design for eBayCreate the vision for developing, communicating, and implementing the user experience and associated UI framework and assets on our core platforms; follow through with the processes and tactics to implement the visionProduce user flows, wireframes, prototypes, user interface specifications, and final graphicsDrive the development and communication of design guidelines, patterns, and libraries, and storytelling through sizzle reelsOversee close coordination with the product management team to develop a shared vision of a product and then lead a process to define the experience and design to deliver on the product’s objectivesPartner with the technology team to ensure we demonstrate the scale offered by our platforms without compromising on core experiential principlesRequirements:8+ years professional experience as a motion designer / user experience designer; expertise in both motion and visual designBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Motion Design or related design disciplineExperience with design and prototyping tools such as After Effects and C4DExperience with character animationExperience with agile/scrumExperience designing mobile web, and/or on-device mobile applicationsBenefits are an essential part of your total compensation for the work you do every day. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
