As the Senior Program Manager on the Design System Team, you’ll manage the roadmap for this critical resource, drive adoption of the design system, and liaise with product teams across the company. You’ll work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment with Designers and Design Technologists to deliver, govern and grow the Design System. You will build connections across the organization, set priorities for the system, and work alongside the Senior Design Manager to extend and mature the design system as we spread it throughout our products.
You will report to the Senior Manager of Design Systems and can be located remotely from any state in the United States where Smartsheet is a registered employee or in our Bellevue, WA Headquarters.
You Will:
Collaborate with cross functional peers to build, govern and grow the Design System
Transform the Design System vision into a product strategy and execution roadmap
Build tracking solutions to manage inbound requests and priority and communicate progress outward to stakeholders
Set key performance metrics and OKRs to define success for the platform, including adoption rate
Be a lead advocate for the Design System to enable consistent experiences, reuse and efficient product design and development across Smartsheet
Gather, prioritize and document requirements, facilitate trade-off discussions and plan and manage interdependencies
Identify and mitigate risks, track progress, resolve conflicts, ensure quality and report on status
Conduct market analysis on new technologies, tools, workflows to evolve the Design System
Evangelize the Design System across Smartsheet and support internal customers in its use
Support other duties as assigned
You Have:
7+ years program management or engineering work experience (at least 4 years program management)
A technical understanding of Design Systems (preferably at scale) that enables Design and Engineering teams. Tools we use: Figma, Storybook, Confluence, Smartsheet
A firm grasp across key concepts in UI, UX in web, app, and accessibility standards
Experience with change management governance processes
Experience rolling out new tools or capabilities, including training/supporting cross-functional internal customers
Experience across geographically distributed teams
Excellent communication, facilitation, interpersonal skills, to clearly communicate and lead a diverse, multi-disciplinary team. Able to translate technical concepts to a business and non-technical audience
Experience working in SCRUM/Agile frameworks
Ability to build and maintain technical relationships, to manage priorities and demands from stakeholders across the company, and create consensus and approvals without direct reporting lines
Strong work ethic, integrity and collaborative approach to work. Willingness to roll up your sleeves and get things done
Ability to quickly learn and understand new technical concepts and technologies. Takes smart risks and champion new ideas

Smartsheet provides a competitive base salary range for roles that may be hired in different geographic areas we are licensed to operate our business from. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, level of professional, educational experience, skills, and specific candidate location. In addition, this role will be eligible for a market competitive incentive opportunity and some roles may be eligible for a RSU stock grant upon accepted offer. California & New York: $124,00 to $178,200 | All other US States: $115,000 to $165,000
