What We’re Looking For: 2U is looking for an experienced, data-driven digital marketer to lead marketing strategy and analytics focused on the Degree business. This role plays a critical function within 2U’s marketing and revenue generation group, has ownership over a large portion of 2U’s marketing investment strategy, and will oversee a team of managers and analysts responsible for achieving marketing ROI. The team is composed of Digital Marketing Analysts who plan investments and strategy, and set goals, for 2U’s portfolio of channels, programs, verticals and channels. The right candidate for this role will be able to lead 2U’s Degree Demand Gen team and guide investment strategy through leadership, innovative thinking and analytical rigor; and he/she will be able to do at 2U’s scale and pace. You will work with the VP and CMO to understand business objectives and align to spend and investment plans, forecasted outcomes and budget optimizations. You will also partner across the marketing org to ensure our plans are executed effectively and our marketing efforts are optimized. Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To: Monitor day-to-day marketing performance, KPIs, and long-term trends, reporting to VP and CMO. Lead a culture of smart testing, trial and error, and rapid iteration, collaborating closely with the data science team. Influence marketing efficiency across functions, including creative and brand teams. Set investment strategy, prioritize marketing dollars, and establish strategic goals at all levels. Collaborate across marketing functions to ensure best-in-class efforts and develop strategic frameworks for analytics. Work with direct reports to set visions related to people, process, tools, and innovation, ensuring proper staffing and development. Take direct ownership over spend, prospect volume management, conversion rate optimization and improvement of prospect to student conversion funnels. Responsible for a team of direct reports (Managers, Sr. Analysts, Analysts), fostering a world-class digital marketing culture and developing future leaders. Coaches and advocates a strong, structured analytical approach amongst analysts. Partner with media teams to hit channel goals, innovate media approaches, and monitor and communicate performance insights. Collaborate with external partners and vendors, including large media channels and affiliate networks. Communicate directly with VP, SVP, and C-level stakeholders, attending planning sessions and performing quarterly business reviews on business health and priorities. Maintain detailed documentation and clear communication standards. Things That Should Be In Your Background: 10+ years of experience in a business-focused digital marketing or media role, with direct response media experience being a must Experience hiring, managing, and building teams Expert analytical abilities, including extensive proficiency in using web analytics tools for media campaign optimization Analytical and process orientation capabilities with good organizational skills, ability to translate data insights into actionable recommendations Experience with client management and/or external stakeholder management Experience working cross-departmentally, including working with executive stakeholders and external partners/clients Ability to work well with others, influence others, and support decision making through sound recommendations Ability to work independently and be versatile and adaptable under changing circumstances Exceptional oral and written communication skills including presentation skills Exceptional communication skills at all levels of the organization (written, verbal) Bachelor’s in Business or related field Some limited travel required between offices and to school campuses Other Attributes That Will Help You In This Role: Paid search expertise preferred Experience with SQL and Python a plus While this position is open to remote candidates across the U.S., we will prioritize those who live in the Washington-Baltimore metropolitan area and who are available to come into our Headquarters in Lanham, MD two days a week.
