Join the team and create the future of customer experience together.Incentive Compensation Design DirectorThe Incentive Compensation Design Director is a critical role in the implementation of Genesys’ business strategy sales compensation programs. This role will report to the VP of Global Incentive Compensation and will be responsible for co-managing the plan design process, modeling, and inputs for creation of incentive compensation plans for plan participants in the Sales organization. This includes working with executive leaders to understand strategic business objectives, assessing the success of current incentives, proposing new incentive designs, securing final decisions and approvals, and communicating new incentives to leaders and employees. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on business or accounting, with at least 8 years of experience in Sales Operations, Sales Compensation, or Finance.The scope includes commission plans, bonus plans, and temporary incentives (“SPIFFs”) for Sales roles, including Account Executives, Sales Managers, Solution Consultants, Sales Development Representatives, and new, experimental roles. The person should be familiar with how software companies go to market in order to align incentives with distinct roles (e.g., industry specialists, account managers, product overlays, etc.), commissions administration, which includes distribution of sales incentive plans and processing calculations for all commissionable positions for an assigned area.Key Responsibilities: Co-lead a cross-functional process to align incentives with company’s strategic and operational goalsDetermine pay mix, performance measures, weights and mechanics to encourage desired behaviors by roleAssess the effectiveness of current incentive plansAssess the performance of worldwide Sales resources against current goals (e.g., percent of reps achieving quota)Brief executives on current sales performance and obstaclesManage plan design exception requests from regional sales leadershipOversee the creation of cost of sales models to evaluate plan scenariosDesign temporary incentives (e.g., “SPIFFs”) to support short term prioritiesProject manage deployment of plans across internal and external business partners, from documentation of final plan designs and policies through plan deploymentWork with the team that will administer the plans and make updates to compensation systemsCommunicate with field and relevant stakeholders on policy and program changes in a compelling and effective mannerWork with Finance to analyze the cost of plan changes and lead trade-off discussions as requiredOversee the creation of a Sales scorecard to evaluate sales effectiveness, working with enablement to strengthen Sales programs to encourage productivityUnderstand and track the sales capacity, cost of incentive compensation programs and commission expenseRequirements:Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience8 or more years design experience in a consulting or sales operations role, ideally in the enterprise software industryKnowledge of typical comp plan structures in enterprise software (quotas, accelerators, pay mix, and on-target earnings). Experience with approaches to incenting cooperative selling across complex multinational accounts (when double compensation makes sense)Deep subject matter expertise and business process knowledge across territory management, sales account coverage, sales crediting and compensationDemonstrated ability to lead and manage changeExcellent communication skills and tactful diplomacyExcellent written and presentation skills, especially related to creating compelling presentations and presenting recommendations and decisions to executive leadershipAnalytical skills and a structured approach to solving unique business problemsInductive and deductive reasoningAbility to be firm and ensure the right business decisions are made with all levelsAdvanced time management and project management skills including ability to handle multiple projects with bold deadlinesAbility to work independently with general direction in an exciting environment.Thorough interpersonal and cross-functional business partnering skillsAdvanced Excel Skills; use of advanced formulas, pivot tables, data manipulationExperience in commission administration is a plus, including meaningful experience with ICM/SPMs (preferably Callidus).#LI-RemoteCompensation:This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below.
