Data Center Controls EngineerJob SummaryThe Controls Engineer performs repairs, corrective maintenance, and routine installations and is able to resolve incidents as required. Has the ability to troubleshoot complex control wiring.ResponsibilitiesFacility/Infrastructure MaintenancePerforms site inspections and monitors the building and data center alarmsPerforms preventative maintenance on site infrastructure (e.g. maintenance of primary infrastructures), or manages vendorsUndertakes repairs and corrective maintenanceOperates critical infrastructure under the supervision of more senior technical staffAssist on-site data center facility engineering personnel in working with local controls vendors.Review existing controls systems for single points of failure and provide suggestions for remediationSite AdministrationTroubleshoot of the controls system, including field devices, controllers, network components and software systemsCompletion of site logs and data gathering issuing for basic permits, such as MOPs and scriptsIncident ManagementResponds to all on-site incidents and acts as requiredWork OrdersCompletes routine work requests and circuit installationsCollaborationProvides assistance during critical maintenance activitiesEffectively collaborates within the department and provides input to peers for general maintenance activitiesAdditional ProjectsCarries out basic infrastructure projectsQualifications3+ years hands on controls experienceHigh School Diploma required, BSEE or equivalent experience preferredMust be conversant with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) debugging and programming.
