Be a part of the team that builds NeMo Guardrails, an open-source toolkit for easily adding programmable guardrails to large language model-based conversational systems. We are looking for researchers in dialogue systems, AI safety, and security in large language models. Join us to influence and build the next generation of Conversational AI!What you'll be doing:Develop new deep learning models, training algorithms, and frameworks for dialogue systems using very large language modelsReduce harmful behaviour in LLMs and protect against adversarial attacksContinually assess and improve the ongoing defensive abilities of NeMo GuardrailsPublish your research at conferences (ACL, EMNLP, NAACL)Partner with Deep Learning & AI researchers in leading universities and industrial research labsOpen source your models and algorithms as part of NVIDIA NeMo Guardrails and other projectsWhat we need to see:PhD (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or Applied Math3+ years of proven experienceAdvanced understanding of Deep Learning with applications in Speech Processing and NLP, and a record of publications or significant product contributions in these areasStrong Python programming skills and experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlowExperienced mathematical background, especially in optimization theory, stochastic algorithms, and/or numerical methodsWays to stand out from the crowd:Research or product development experience with dialogue systemsExperience in cybersecurity or Trustworthy AI, such as in toxicity detection or algorithmic methods for adversarial attacks and their defenseSystems software engineering knowledge and expertise in optimizing software for computational performanceContribution to open source software projectsThe base salary range is 195,000 CAD - 390,000 CAD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
