NVIDIA is seeking a Director, IT - Compute Services within the IT Infrastructure organization. In this role, you will build and own the Compute platform Strategy for IT and Partners on-prem and cloud. The director will run global IT Compute hosting services which consists of bare metal, virtualized and cloud hosted infrastructure. You will lead and guide the team through technology transformation and expand to new areas within NVIDIA. You will collaborate with internal customers and influence overall strategy while leading the Compute hosting Service & SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) functions within a diverse team of engineers. All while working in close collaboration with data center and cloud partner teams to support NVIDIA’s growth.The successful candidate would be able to demonstrate in-depth system knowledge across several technical domains like Virtualization, Cloud hosting platforms, Operating Systems, Networking, etc... They will have a track record of leading teams through transformation and delivering infrastructure at scale. Structured thinking and problem-solving skills, along with exceptional interpersonal skills will be crucial for success as you build strong teams that partner with engineering and operations organizations across NVIDIA.What you’ll be doing:Lead multiple teams of systems engineers and SRE’s globally to run a global compute hosting service on-prem, in the cloud and at tens of partner locations.Build strategy and roadmaps for transforming IT Compute hosting platforms on-prem & in the cloud.Be the thoughtful leader to transform Computing services for our partners that build and operate massive compute FARMS for Chip Design & build supercomputers.Lead and mentor the team through technology transformations.Work across all NVIDIA product areas to anticipate future service management needs and incorporate them into a well-considered multi-year product roadmap.Manage capacity planning with capex and opex of >10 million of dollars annually.Working with NVIDIA leadership, senior engineers, program managers, and product managers to develop compelling products and services that meet customer needs.Own and transform global Compute infrastructure planning, design, delivery, and operations.What we need to see:BS in Engineering, CS (or equivalent experience) and 10+ overall years industry experience.8+ years of experience in leadership.Proven track record of leading teams through transformation.Deep understanding of cloud, standard infrastructure components like virtualization, Operating Systems, DNS, AD etc. and bonus points for understanding of data center architectures, networking.Experience with running large environments consisting of BareMetal, large scale virtualized environment with a mix of tens of thousands of VM’s and cloud infrastructure.Demonstrated Experience with Automation and Monitoring platforms, DevOPS and configuration Management platforms.Experience recruiting, building teams, and managing engineering teams, including performance management.Collaborative approach and strong problem-solving skills to work with leaders across organizational and technical domainsExcellent written and verbal communication skills to manage effectively across cultures and geographies.Ways to stand out from the crowd:Demonstrated experience leading teams through multiple technology stack transformations and building hybrid infrastructure at scale.NVIDIA is widely considered to be one of the technology world’s most desirable employers. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
