NVIDIA is hiring outstanding interns to work in its functional safety team. The development of the safety cases of our highly complex systems-on-chips and boards relies from time to time on a safety impact analysis on those safety cases. This evaluates the impact of requested changes to a product on the work products in a safety case. The work products (i.e. documentation) are stored in a configuration management system. Work products are interdependent, and it is necessary to have tools in place that facilitate and reduce the effort of performing the impact analysis. The tools need to be able to handle different file formats and query the work products. They need to have a general understanding of the information contained in the individual work products to then extract relevant information and store it in a database. The tool development needs to follow defined quality management processes. What you will be doing:Develop requirements and specifications for the tools in collaboration with other engineers.Tool development and provide assistance in unit testing and verification.Author work products adhering to a defined tools development process. What we need to see:Pursuing a BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science or related field.Strong understanding of Python, databases, and configuration management systems.Solid understanding of FMEA and ISO 26262Strong communication and organization skills, with a logical approach to problem solving, good time management, and task prioritization skills.NVIDIA is widely considered to be one of the technology industry's most desirable employers.
