You'll help us solve deep technological problems connected to human systems and building innovative solutions. Your responsibilities will include owning the overarching solution, working with software engineering teams to bridge key technical relationships, and driving projects towards success. As a senior technical individual contributor, you possess hands-on development experience on multiple platforms and on web services. You enjoy working with smart and passionate developers in an evolving business context. You will join the ranks of a growing community of Autodesk Distinguished, Sr. Distinguished and Fellow Engineers/Architects. You'll help us establish technical standards and drive Autodesk's overall technical architecture and engineering practices. You'll work on Autodesk's hardest problems, building high quality, architecturally sound systems that are aligned with our business needs. Autodesk senior technical contributors are pragmatic visionaries who can translate business needs into workable technology solutions.ResponsibilitiesBe the technical expert on our most demanding, cross-functional projects, and develop innovative solutions with little or no precedentLead product and engineering teams in thinking differently on how to solve the most complex and unique challengesOversee advanced product development activities where outcomes have long-term impact on our successPartner with product owners to define roadmaps, architecture, and success metrics for new system capabilities, and influence the broader Autodesk EMS Cloud productsDefine and ensure the quality of architecture and design of systemsFunctionally decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutionsAssist in the career development of others through mentoringEngage with the Autodesk developer community on advanced technical issues and help managers guide the career growth of their team membersExert technical influence over multiple teams, increasing their productivity and effectiveness by sharing your knowledge and experienceAnticipate market needs and influence the development of product strategies and objectives, including new industry group applications or functionality that require significant resource investmentsEffectively research and benchmark Autodesk technology against other competing systems in the industryContribute intellectual property through patent generationMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience will be considered15+ years of practical experience in software engineeringProven track record of leading delivery of large-scale, high-quality systemsExperience delivering complex, service oriented software development using innovative solutionsExperience managing complex projects with strategic impactExperience guiding, coaching and facilitating technical decisions around product development life cycle processes and applying best practicesExperience mentoring an engineering community on complex technical issuesCloud-native platform or services development experiencePreferred QualificationsAdvanced degree in Computer Science or a related fieldDeep hands-on technical expertise in delivering solutions in at least two or three major technical areas (e.g. large-scale systems engineering, complex distributed systems, machine learning & data science, monitoring or management tools for large-scale environments, etc.)2+ years as the technical lead for an organization of 50+ software developersExperience making architectural tradeoffs required to rapidly deliver software solutions and learn new technologies quicklyUp to date knowledge on technology trends in cloud computing and machine learningExperience with AWS servicesLearn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk!
