Chemical Analysis Technical SpecialistDescription -This will be an exciting opportunity to start up and work in a new R&D Lab on dispersion technology, explore different sample preparation technique and utilize chemical equipment for analysis.What a Chemical Analysis Technical Specialist does in HPResponsible to support the R&D Chemists in the Lab testing requirements, including dispersion raw materials, final dispersion ink testing, validation and qualification of R&D dispersions and/or ink.Perform machine installation, setup and maintenance in the lab.Have fundamentals of chemical raw materials safety and handling Acquire knowledge on equipment/tooling and its functionality to process the dispersion materials.Perform certification in areas of equipment operations, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and calibration.Institute innovation projects for chemical sample preparation, equipment & methodology improvement.Manage sample preparation, lab operation supplies and utilize different equipment for dispersion processing and measurementDemonstrate capability to support characterization of material composition and performance analysis for R&D project.Adopt good TPM approaches to utilize appropriate levels of spares and consumables to maintain cost effectiveness.Lead equipment reliability programs to improve equipment uptime and implement Kaizen projects to improve productivity/Smart Manufacturing, quality, safety and reduce cost.Proactively practice and adhere to Chemical safety, EHS practices and ISO standards to ensure continual compliance to all procedures and processes.Collaborate effectively with Chemists, Analytical and Characterisation teams to always maintain the excellent dispersion analysis.  Work closely with Analytical Chemists and Charaterization Lab Test Engineer on dispersion-ink analysis and testing.  Individuals who will do well in this role usually possess:Degree or Diploma in Chemistry, Material Science and/or other related technical disciplines or equivalent.At least 4-6 years of experience in laboratory environment, focusing on research and analytical materials or chemistry work.  Competent on chemistry, chemical equipment functionality and maintenance. Experienced in using equipment such as Chromatography, Elemental Analysis, Particle size Analyzer, Nanotrac, AccuSizer, Tensiometer, Rheometers, Viscometer, UV Absorbance, CHDF etc. Prior experience in laboratory based pharmaceutical, oil and gas, paint or pigment or chemical manufacturing industries will be an added advantage, including working knowledge of EHS, GMP and PPE requirements, Safe Chemical Handling practices and ISO quality and procedures. Able and willing to travel overseas for extended periods.Able to work shift and overtime based on business requirements.Sustainable impact is HP’s commitment to create positive, lasting change for the planet, its people, and our communities.
