College Intern - R&D Mechanical EngineerDescription -What a College Intern – R&D Mechanical Engineer does at HP:Development for Next-Generation HP Smart Tank Printer, or Critical Product Performance Characterization Tool Development (Hardware & Software), or Data Insight on Critical Product Performance Characterization result using Data Science and/or Machine Learning.Works with R&D team on printer product development.Develops Critical Product Performance Characterization Tools (Hardware & Software)Data Insight of Critical Product Performance using Data Science & Machine LearningDocuments design rules on various areas of product design.Uses CAD software to design mechanical parts for printer product.Uses simulation software to understand the design robustness.Goes through the design process from design intent to actual prototype.Establishes optimized machine setting and test specification for maximum yield gain with reduced cycle time.Develops loss function with statistical test to validate test specification to filter defects.Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:Currently pursing Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Data Science or Computer ScienceSoftware Development Skill (Excel Macro, Matlab, any Programming Language)Excellent analytical thinking, project management and problem-solving skills.Fundamental knowledge of Mechanical Product Design.Fundamental Data Science & Machine Learning will be a strong added advantage.Mechanical Drawing Skill using CAD Software will be an added advantage.Passion in hands-on projects.Able to commit for 6 months.Sustainable impact is HP’s commitment to create positive, lasting change for the planet, its people, and our communities.
