Apple Hardware Engineering R&D Division in Japan is seeking highly enthusiastic and qualified students to participate in Technical Internship focused on the Precision Machining and Process Data Analysis. The team pursues advancement of the performance in our optical components through improving lens manufacturing process and developing new optical elements. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Currently pursuing MS or PhD degree in relevant major focus Outstanding academic achievements in own field of study Creative/analytical & critical thinking and problem-solving skills Good to have experience with one or more scientific computing languages such as Matlab, Python, C/C++/C#, etc. Good to have experience in CNC machining (turning, milling, etc.) and analysis of data related to machining process Good to have experience in mechanical and optic measurements Must hold relevant work permit in Japan for the duration of the internship. Description Description Specific project and assignment will be determined through discussion with our engineers based on individual strengths and background of each intern. Some general responsibilities may include: - Manufacture custom samples with CNC machines - Acquiring and processing the machining process-related data - Evaluation of cut surface properties with mechanical and optics metrology devices - Analyzing the relationship between the data and surface properties - Propose and implement innovative ideas to improve the process Education & Experience Education & Experience Currently pursuing MS or PhD degree in relevant major focus Additional Requirements Additional Requirements
