Job Requisition ID #24WD75400Position OverviewThe Platform Services and Emerging Technologies (PSET) team is searching for a Senior Event Manager to manage production from concept through completion, helping maintain the prestige of the Autodesk internal flagship event, TechX. We are searching for someone passionate, creative, and can provide superb client service at every turn. They are an expert in all aspects of event, meeting, and conference planning, including cost containment, venue scouting, equipment logistics, room setup, and best practices. They also have an ability to delegate responsibilities to meet expectations for quality and are an event planner who can manage the daily details and use big picture thinking to ensure a unique experience.This role will report to the Director of Technology Excellence. This role will be fully remote and will require travel domestically or internationally for events and conferences.ResponsibilitiesOversee all operational aspects of Autodesk's internal flagship event, TechX, including venue recommendation and selection, budgeting, vendor on-boarding and management, and registration, along with hotel, transportation, and food & beverage logistics, and off-expo productionManage event timelines, resources, and Autodesk & vendor deliverablesProvide regular budget forecasts to the Technology Excellence leadership teamCollaborate with other teams and external partners to ensure seamless execution, exceptional event experiences and promote an environment of inclusivity and knowledge sharingNurture and build relationships with vendors, venues, and other industry contacts while crafting and implementing the creative and logistical aspects of all eventsRemain current (or ahead of the curve) with trends in event planning, design, and production, and solve operational challengesEstablish procedures and train staff to accomplish themComply with legal, insurance, health, and safety regulationsCoordinate with internal staff, clients, and vendors to establish the requirements for an event, and serve as liaison to senior executives, government officials, and industry leaders throughout the planning processLocate resources, visit sites, and lead pre-event meetings to help staff make decisions about event designManage logistics for all events, including contract negotiations, guest lists, venue preparation, presentation materials, security, catering, entertainment, transportation, equipment, decor, and marketing materialsOversee client experiences from conception through post-event review; manage on-site preparations, production, and event breakdown; and ensure, high-level service throughout all phasesDevelop a comprehensive database of industry contacts, vendors, and venuesMinimum Qualifications5+ years of event operations experience, including operational responsibility for leading medium-scale (1,000+) customer conferences in the technology industry5+ years managing 7-figure budgets, and experience delivering high-quality events within said budgetExperience working in both digital and in-person event environments, with in-depth knowledge of managing internal and external production teamsThe Ideal CandidateHas experience building positive business relationships with all partners at all levelsHas a focus on customer experienceHas knowledge of wide range of event technologies, registration systems, mobile apps, gamification, and event analytics#LI-RB1Learn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk! For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $110,800 and $179,300. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
