We’re hiring, and we’d love for you to join our dynamic team!   The Director of Sustainability is our company’s leader and champion for reducing our environmental footprint, as well as providing a key voice in the US and beyond for developing and implementing legal frameworks that encourage circularity. In this role, you are responsible for six key elements of our Sustainability strategy and results. Strategy : Owning and evolving our sustainability framework and strategy Environmental impact improvement leader : developing and leading initiatives across the company aimed at reducing our carbon footprint and minimizing our environmental impact overall Environmental impact measurement : Collecting and submitting data points to third party partners to compute our environmental impact and related grades Advocacy : Participating in external organizations dedicated to delivering legislation that encourages circularity Public Relations : Support Public Relations and Marketing in developing content and programs about our sustainability efforts Employee engagement in sustainability : Develop and own forums and communications for boosting employee awareness of and engagement in improving our sustainable footprint What You Get To Do Every Day Develop and own our sustainability strategic roadmap, mapping high-impact projects to further our credibility, influence, and growth Work across every department as our subject-matter expert to reduce our carbon footprint and ideate the right set of initiatives to help industry partners and customers do the same by adopting resale moving toward a zero-waste future Actively project manage sustainability initiatives to completion Lead a cross-functional task force to ensure our operations reflect our values to limit emissions and expand customer-facing communication tools Manage and expand our proprietary TRR Sustainability Calculator, measuring the avoided water and carbon emissions of the circular economy Act as our brand representative, offering a credible, professional, and fresh perspective Actively contribute to priorities and legislative verbiage in non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that are committed to enacting legislation that encourages or requires circularity Support our Public Relations and Marketing teams in providing content about sustainability for communications and campaigns Collect data points from TRR departments and third party suppliers to quantify our carbon footprint and environmental impact computed by third parties Ensure the accuracy of our computed carbon footprint based on triangulating across trends  Identify and partner with third parties such as recyclers and employee sustainability apps that can help TRR improve our environmental awareness and reduce our footprint What You Bring To The Role Minimum Requirements: 5-10 years directly leading sustainability strategy and improvement projects Experience working cross-functionally to design and deliver sustainability project improvements, including with facilities, logistics, retail and technology functions Extensive subject matter knowledge and expertise of environmental and social sustainability policies, processes, and technology  Experience working with NGOs and regulators/legislators to understand pending legislation and influence new legislation Extensive knowledge and experience in working with major environmental measurement and disclosure standards, e.g. SBT, Higg BRM, CDP, GRI, TCFD, SASB, ISSB  Knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework surrounding sustainability requirements Experience analyzing complex problems and developing, recommending, and implementing solutions to resolve such problems Excellence in development and delivery of presentations for executive audiences, with ability to distill and effectively communicate highly complex information to leaders Strong organizational and communication skills, strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with stakeholders of multiple levels Preferred Requirements: Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in environmental studies, sustainability science or studies, planning, or a related field PMP or other project management certification   The expected salary range for this role is $138,000.00 - $160,000.00 . To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Additionally, salary is just one component of TRR’s total rewards package. Depending on role, employees may also be eligible for a bonus program, incentive pay and benefits.
