The RF Hardware Design Engineer will design, develop, and optimize radio frequency (RF) hardware circuits and systems for wireless communications devices. The engineer will primarily be responsible for development and integration of cellular radio platforms, all the way from initial concept design to product announcement. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications BSEE required, MSEE preferred Experience with radio hardware design and/or RF component design Hands on experience with RF circuits and hardware on the lab bench Understanding of core technologies and physics that drive innovative RF performance Proficient in wireless communications standards (e.g. 3GPP), wireless technology and communications market trends. Excellent written and verbal communicator, consistent track record of working in a multifaceted team. Cellular Handset experience is preferred Familiarity with RF simulation tools (ADS, HFSS, Matlab) (preferred, not required) Experience with Python for test setup automation and data analysis is preferred Familiarity with the challenges of development for high-volume manufacturing Position may require some international travel Description Description This RF Hardware engineer will design RF radios used across the full range of Apple products. During the architectural stage you will work with world-class system and IC designers to build the foundation of next generation wireless chipsets. You will personally architect the RF Front End, simulate and specify RF components, and work with 3rd party vendors to design custom RF modules. With the full weight of Apple behind you, there is no limit on what innovation is possible.
During the development phase you be responsible for all aspects of bringing the product to market. You will design prototype boards to test and optimize RF performance, ensuring that component level and system level requirements are met. You will solve system level integration issues and component failures that are only seen with the scale of an Apple product.
This role also requires heavy multi-functional collaboration with other Apple teams (RF Software, System Integration, Product Design) and therefore you will also maintain a firm grasp of the entire product landscape outside of wireless design.

- Architect RF front end designs to realize our wireless product requirements
- Perform RF system lineup analysis to ensure our system designs meet industry and internal standards
- Create and maintain specifications for RF components and drive component development with vendors
- Be involved with schematic capture and PCB Design

This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $55.82 and $84.09/hr, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
