This is a full time, remote Summer Internship that can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada. Calix is looking for a Summer intern to join our Legal team. In this role, you will be part of a unique and award-winning internship program within the company. The program provides the opportunity to learn new skills through training and on the job learning.If you're eager to learn and have a strong desire to grow and expand your knowledge in the corporate and in-house legal world, we're looking for you. This is an exciting opportunity to work under the supervision of the company’s in-house counsel and legal team across several practice areas. Scope will not only include cross-functional legal work, but also broader in-house department management and working with multiple legal technology platforms.Responsibilities and Duties:Complete specific projects related to general corporate law, commercial transactions, and business compliance activities.Collaborate with legal team members to understand and provide analysis of compliance and legal obligations.Analyze technology trends and legal practices, and conduct benchmarking analyses.Document guidance and create trainings on legal topics for use by the whole company.Create process documents for legal workflows.Update contracts in Contract Management System, Ironclad, with appropriate metadata tags and develop reports extrapolating the data for our business partners.Work with privacy counsel to streamline data within our Data Privacy Management System, TrustArc.Qualifications:High level of attention to detail.Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.Ability to manage time effectively and ensure the completion of projects on schedule.Ability to communicate professionally and effectively.Comfortable with technology and learning new applications and platforms.Basic knowledge and understanding of legal documents.Possess creativity and confidence to suggest new and interesting processes, approaches, or solutions to build Calix’s legal operations.Microsoft Office software suite experience (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).Ability to work for the complete summer break (May - August or June - September).Paralegal from an ABA-accredited Paralegal Program or a 1L Law Student from an ABA-accredited Law School preferred.Compensation will vary based on geographical location (see below) within the United States. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's location of residence and multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, and education (i.e. year in school).There are different ranges applied to specific locations.
