English fluency is a requirement of the position**Position Summary:The Business Operations Manager is responsible for the execution of appropriate project and program management frameworks for Illumina’s LATAM Commercial Team. Specifically, this role will manage and will be responsible for the operation and coordination, accountability management and timely execution of direct set-up as well as with strategic projects aimed to developing key capabilities required to sustain Illumina’s growth in the region. The ideal candidate will reside in Colombia, have native-level competency in Spanish, advanced- level competency in English and have a sound appreciation of country requirements as well as the commercial value chain to drive successful operation execution, tracking and reporting. The Business Operations Manager is expected to communicate with a wide range of roles in the organization across multiple countries and time zones to ensure quality and accuracy of data inputs and appropriate representation of the voice of the Commercial Operations Teams and our customers. Experience in setting up infrastructure, such as systems, logistics, customs clearance, supply chain activities in general, communication with service providers and customers, accounts, etc., to drive accountability and success is a must. This role is expected to be able to step in and manage operations as needed. This requires the critical ability to be forward looking and anticipate potential challenges. This role will form an integral part of the LATAM Commercial Team and reports to the Associate Director of Customer Care in Commercial Operations. The Commercial Operations Team is responsible for Illumina’s LATAM Geo-Expansion and for enabling the regional commercial team to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of value creation for our channel partners and customers.The Business Operations Manager position may primarily be opened as part time and/or a contractor, with potential upgrade to a Full Time Employee position as business grow and is sustainable in region.Position Responsibilities:Assists the LatAm Commercial and Management teams in projects related to setting up local country infrastructure and customer readiness.Leads operations , creates and tracks regular standard reporting for all the activities and facilitates timely decision-making capabilities.Creates processes and frameworks in alignment with local requirements and customs needs.Creates operational processes in alignment with key teams and stakeholders Ensures transparency across documents and processes.Manages operations projects as needed, leading problem-solving efforts to overcome barriers where required through a combination of tenacity, creativity and a high degree of collaborative influence.Collaborates and works with cross-functional teams like Global Trade Compliance, Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs, Transportation, Finance, Accounting, Customer Care, Sales, Service and Support and other members of the Commercial and Strategy organizations to drive improved outcomes.Monitors progress and ensures timely escalation of issues and performance deviations to the management team.Regularly reports out on operations data to senior management and functional leaders of the organization.Works across global and regional teams to avoid duplication of activities and thrives towards synergistic outcomes.Position Requirements:Understanding local business practices, regulatory environment as well as cultural idiosyncrasies of Colombia and other Latin American countries.Understanding of the Commercial business model and common Global business processes associated with the commercial value chain such as Quote to Cash, Customer Experience, Opportunity to Install, Service to Support, etc.Experience with project management methods and processes.Ability to engage and influence effectively at all levels and within a matrixed environment of both internal and external resources.Skilled at building relationships based on trust and confidence with key stakeholders.Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with a diverse set of peers and stakeholders across organizational levels, functions and geographies/cultures.Must be driven, self-motivated, well organized and able to thrive under ambiguity Capability to independently manage multiple tasks is a must.Preferred Experience/Education/Skills:Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience working in the LatAm region – life sciences or related field experience is a plus.5+ years in operations and project management preferred.2-3+ years of people manager experience preferred.Native level fluency in Spanish and English, knowledge of Portuguese is a plus.BA/BS or MBA/MS in business, management, life sciences or technical field.At Illumina, we strive to foster a diverse and inclusive workplace by cultivating an environment in which everyone contributes to our mission.
