Territory includes exciting opportunities to grow smaller existing customers and establish new customers. The ISAM role is exciting and challenging as you can work directly with academic institutions, government entities, research and healthcare centers, and biotechnology and pharmaceutical business organizations utilizing your scientific knowledge and lab experience while selling products for the world leader in Genomics. The position is home-office and customer-facing based with an expectation of ~15% travel time, depending on geographic location of customer concentration.Position Responsibilities: Maintains deep comprehensive knowledge of large number of small accounts including personnel and responsibilities, budgeting, internal operations, products and services, competition, and market.Possesses strong understanding of Illumina’s technology and products and continues learning as Illumina’s product portfolio evolves.Develops business plans & can articulate strategy to effectively sell the total Illumina product portfolio and end-to-end solution, including: Consumables, Instrumentation, Bioinformatics, and Professional Services.Prepares and givse compelling customer sales presentations and participates in all sales activities and assist with general customer demonstrations, training, and support.Achieves sales targets and be responsible for accurately forecasting and maintaining leads, account details and up-to-date opportunity information in CRM database.Able to perform in-depth analysis of variables and metrics to develop sales strategy and proactively contribute to the forecasting process.Grows accounts within assigned territory via inbound, outbound, and sales lead engagement to guide them to the Illumina products that best meet their needs.Collaborates with internal resources to resolve increasingly complex customer questions or objections, creates and submits customized offers, and completes the sales process.Establishes and maintains a strong, positive and productive relationship with customers, including product end users, management and purchasing.Partners with the broader sales team, including Sales Specialists and Product Care.Communicates sales activities and strategies effectively to supervisors.Effectively builds a short/medium/long-term sales pipeline and manages the necessary levels of sales leads, prospects, and opportunities.Creates and contributes to an environment to encourage peer team members to share best practices and sales strategies.Seeks new ways to collaborate with sales and non-sales functions.”Identifies and develops solutions to address issues that may impact customer satisfaction, working with other departments to deploy improvements as needed.Position Requirements: Proven track record in Life Science/ Medical devices with impressive sales numbers, ability to build and maintain long-time relationshipExcellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, telephone sales skillsProficient understanding of sequencing across clinical and research Understanding of regional specifics and regulatory landscapeKnowledge of CRM platform is a plusCreative thinking, detail oriented, excellent time management, team player with high self-drive to succeed Strong analytical skills and commercial sense to develop strategic and tactical action plansWork in time zone of the sub-region aligned to; while preference may be given to those residing in time zone, living in time zone is not required Preferred Experience/Education/Skills: Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree or PhD; or equivalent work experience.The estimated base salary range for the Executive Inside Sales Account Manager role based in the United States of America is: $105,600 - $158,400. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
