You will be responsible for championing sustainability across the different business activities of the market (festivals, venues, shows, and offices), to achieve Live Nation’s goals and vision set out in our Green Nation Sustainability Charter. You will be working across multiple shows, festivals and venues as an essential member of the team to plan, deliver, and evaluate projects and programs that meet our sustainability goals. We hold regular staff events in our atrium stage space including hosting speakers and open mic nights to showcase Live Nation employee talent.Who You AreCompetencies / Skills / Knowledge / ExperienceDemonstrable prior experience in a dedicated sustainability roleA detailed applied and theoretical knowledge of environmental sustainability, industry standards, best practices, legislation (including ESOS, SECR, Extended Producer Responsibility) – particularly as they relate to the UK.Experience writing sustainability communications is essential.Previous experience recruiting, training and managing staff or volunteers is essential.A qualification in environmental management is highly desirable.Membership or working towards membership of a professional environmental association is advantageous.Experience of working in events or production is highly desirable.Analytical approach to data and reporting to translate into insights and evaluation.Planning and organisational skills, including project management, with the ability to delegate to team members where appropriate.Confidence with analysing numbers and data for carbon reportingProject management experience.Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.Excellent communication, motivation and influencing skills at all levels with a knack for diplomacy and stakeholder management.BehavioursPassion for sustainability and live entertainment.Self-motivated, deadline driven and ability to work in a fast-paced, pressurised environment.Ability to work on multiple projects and deadlines.Natural collaborator, working cross functionally and building positive working relationships.A positive and creative “can do” approach.Ability to work both independently and within a team. Able to work on own initiative, self-manage and regularly report back on progress.Proactive approach to problem solving.Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions and stay away from home in accommodation provided.Flexibility to work irregular hours (weekends/evenings/public holidays) due to the nature of the events industry and our event calendar.What the role includesThe post requires the education and experience necessary to provide professional and technical advice, to identify and implement opportunities for improvement in sustainability performance, GHG emissions reduction and change management. You will support the Head of Sustainability (UK & Ireland) to:Manage the delivery of action plans for our festivals, venues and tours in key areas including greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions, renewable energy, waste management and reduction, low carbon travel, food, water, sustainable procurement, and biodiversity. Measure success and cost-effectiveness of projects.Review policies and procedures as required and assist to assure passage and implementation by appropriate decision-makers.Provide expertise, advice and support on sustainability issues to other departments.Work with all stakeholders including staff, artists, crews, caterers, concessions managers, sponsors, partners, and contractors to develop and communicate environmental activities/targets and monitor compliance.Manage the collation, submission and analysis of environmental data including energy, waste, water, and GHG emissions.Prepare reports on sustainability progress, including debrief and annual/ quarterly reports as needed.Working with the marketing team write and edit communications plan / copy to promote awareness of the green initiatives across the different audiences, staff, artists, contractors and service providers to deliver behavioural change.Develop and manage the market’s sustainability budget needed to advance sustainability strategy.Assist with the recruitment and coordination of the sustainability teams and reps working across Ireland festivals, venues and tours.Liaise with the Production teams to plan all logistics for environmental initiatives and coordination with finance and other relevant departments to ensure smooth operation.Represent the organisation in public events and the industry group’s discussions related to sustainability.Equal OpportunitiesWe are passionate and committed to our people and go beyond the rhetoric of diversity and inclusion.
