TRR is looking for a dynamic technology leader that loves to develop talent, lead innovative technology design, deliver software leveraging an agile delivery model, and build cloud-ready, highly scalable solutions for one of the most dynamic business models in retail.
The Vice President of Engineering is responsible for one of the most sophisticated ecommerce marketplace in retail. The individual will lead multiple engineering teams.
What You Get To Do Every Day
Develop a solid understanding of TRR’’s business to shape the Engineering organization to meet our goals
Help establish, refine, and execute TRR’s technical vision
Partner with engineers to drive improvements to our infrastructure, automating and simplifying research and production workflows
Scale, foster, and manage high-performing software teams
Collaborate with engineers and leadership to reach consensus on technical and people decisions
Communicate effectively across the organization to drive progress towards tangible outcomes
Manage decisions around organizational realignments and people management including hiring, promotions, and performance management
Lead an engineering team that balances high performance with high empathy in service of our mission
Recruit high-performing engineers to scale the team to support rapid business growth
Influence technical decision-making, from code architecture to prioritization
Work directly with customer-facing teams to build a product that best serves the need of social workers, youth and families experiencing child welfare
Push our product so it continues to be a beautiful, yet intuitive and accessible interface for users from all walks of life
Work with the rest of the executive team to set cross-company goals and hold teams accountable
What You Bring To The Role
15+ years of professional software engineering experience
5+ years of senior engineering leadership experience (manager of managers/directors)
5+ years of leading teams of 75+ engineers
Strong organization-building background with a focus on innovation, infrastructure development, and team building & motivation
Demonstrated track record of recruiting, managing, motivating, and retaining a multi-site engineering team
High level of executive presence demonstrated by the ability to act as the company's technical representative to cross-functional leadership
You understand how to build architecture and scale it. Proven record of scaling services
A track record of execution
Insight into privacy, security, and accounting implications of architectural/design choices
Experience developing and implementing procedural and technical controls for compliance with regulatory and industry standards
The expected salary range for this role is $290,000 - $310,000. To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Additionally, salary is just one component of TRR’s total rewards package. Depending on role, employees may also be eligible for a bonus program, incentive pay and benefits.
