Software Engineer

Position: Senior Software Engineer Duties: Responsible for fullstack software engineering. Design and implement APIs for the back-end and implement UIs for the front-end. Write code using SQL and Python for the back-end and typescript with react framework for the front-end software development. Communicate with other engineers, designers, and QA specialists, write and review design documents, review code, and place code in version control. Build and design technology to enable various users to understand healthcare data while ensuring its integrity, security, and privacy. Develop the APIs, database schemas, and business logic to power software applications. Build products that change the dynamics and incentives of the healthcare industry, changing a zero-sum game of competition between payers and providers into patient-centered software collaboration. Analyze user needs and utilize data science tools, such as predictive analytics and dynamic modeling, through interactive features. Work in collaboration with Data Engineering and Data Science teams. Education Required: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Animation, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field Experience Required: 5 years of progressive experience as Software Engineer, Animation and Digital Art Designer, or related occupation Special Requirements: Must have at least 1 year of prior work experience in each of the following: Developing front end applications using two of the following: single page application web development (React), object-oriented programming, HTML, CSS, TypeScript, unit testing, and/or version control through git. Developing back end applications using two of the following: object-oriented programming, API design, SQL, unit testing, and/or version control through git. Developing software features collaborating with other team members by communicating with product managers, translating product requirements to code, reviewing other engineers' code, writing design documents for complex features or software maintenance, and reading others' design documents to keep software practices and roadmaps aligned. Developing tools for daily use using all of the following: IDEs (Visual Studio Code), command line, Docker, and macOS. Identifying and improving software technology using tools including: TypeScript, React, module bundlers (Webpack), testing tools (Cypress or Jest), CSS, or HTML. Position permits telecommuting. Applicant may reside anywhere in U.S. and report to San Francisco, CA office.
