We are seeking a Privacy Engineering Intern to support our role to identify and design new privacy protective approaches and techniques across HP’s global businesses to ensure HP’s Privacy Policies are correctly implemented in our solutions and data platforms across the technology stack.  The intern will support our Privacy Engineering & Architecture function with evaluating new Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs) and techniques, analyzing data sets to determine ways to reduce privacy risk and to support ongoing projects that will impact tens of millions of HP customers.  Responsibilities:   Provide support to Privacy Engineering CoE to research technical solutions to relevant privacy questions, control needs, and issues Collaborate with peers as well as with cross-functional internal and external teams, including legal, to ensure that solutions meet regulatory compliance goals   Education and Experience Required Currently enrolled in a four-year college and returning to school following the internship. Baseline knowledge of information privacy industry standards Familiarity with PETs (Privacy Enhancing Technologies) Familiarity with cloud providers (AWS, Azure)  Preferred Majors:  Electrical Engineer  Computer Science  Software Engineer  Data Science  Preferred Knowledge and Skills:   Practical experience of cryptographic libraries and protocols Practical application of statistics Experience with rust, python and containerized software Intermediate skills with Microsoft tools like PowerPoint, Excel, and Word Good work ethic and interpersonal skills Ability to work well in a team atmosphere Good communication skills (verbally and written) Ability to maintain strict confidentiality  You must be enrolled in a university program working towards a Bachelor's or Masters. We are looking for visionaries who are ready to make an impact on the way the world works.
