You will collaborate closely with internal experts to acquire technical guidance and best practice know-how to create and update global training material. You will train Regional Engineering Trainers to facilitate training for Field Service Engineers, for Illumina, its Distributors and Customers, and collaborate closely with other internal groups aligned to contribute to the same primary goals: to drive maximum utilization of Illumina systems at customer sites and to sustain customer retention.Responsibilities:Develop the global training strategy for implementation of new productsDesign and develop training materials dealing with troubleshooting computer systems, software, and networks and business processes related to a Field Service EngineerRepresent commercial training on extended core teams to ensure training needs are addressed and met for execution on deliverablesFacilitate training courses for internal customers that typically include technical presentations, demonstrations, hands-on lab exercises, technical Q&A sessions, and student assessmentsContinuously update course materials to keep pace with rapidly evolving technology and productsAuthor, review, and edit technical documents and presentationsAll listed tasks and responsibilities are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional tasks and responsibilities.Requirements:3 years technical experience in the biotechnology/biomedical or scientific instruments industryOutstanding presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively in a highly matrixed organizationStrong project management skills with the ability to work across multiple cross functional teams to execute on training and deliverables for various commercial projectsHighly motivated with a team-oriented approach to the work environmentExcellent written communication, verbal communication and training skillsStrong organization skills, including ability to rapidly balance priorities in a fast-pace environmentFamiliarity with field optical alignments, fluidics, robotics, electrical/electronics, and/or mechanical systems Clear vision of and commitment to providing outstanding customer serviceMust be willing to travel up to 20%BS in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree with knowledge in the biotechnology/biomedical industryThe estimated base salary range for the Senior Global Training & Development Engineer role based in the United States of America is: $80,900 - $121,300. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
